The ref for the Saints game tops the ratings for cards per game by some margin!!!:

B. Knight 9 S. Dunn 6 D. Gallagher 4 G. Barber 4 R. Harris 4 M. Riley 5 A. D'Urso 2 P. Durkin 2 A. Wiley 1 S. Lodge 1 D.Elleray 0 M. Reed 0 G. Poll 0 U. Rennie 0 S. Bennett 0 S. Jones 0 N. Barry 0 J. Winter 0 M. Halsey 0 A. Wilkie 0 P. Alcock 0 AND .... has the least fouls per card:

M. Halsey 31 A. Wiley 30 S. Lodge 25 P. Durkin 17.67 G. Barber 12.17 D. Elleray 10.83 P. Jones 6.97 D. Gallagher 9.3 A. D'Urso 8 R. Harris 8 S. Bennett 7.67 M. Riley 7.2 N. Barry 6.8 J. Winter 6.4 G. Poll 6.25 S. Dunn 5.17 P. Taylor 4.75 R. Styles 4.29 B. Knight 4.22 Obviously a bit of a control freak .... What bets on us finishing with less than 11 men??

Interesting....

Anyone know what games he's reffed so far?

I thought that Gav, I've never even heard of this bloke!

It might not be as bad as it first looks if he's been reffing dirty teams like Boro, Leeds, Mackems etc...

The 9/game average may be acceptable if they were violent games.

The card/4 fouls is very worrying.

He reffed Spurs v Everton and Coventry v Boro this season, plus various Nationwide games. Last NUFC game he reffed was 25 Sept 1999, Leeds v NUFC with 8 bookings - we lost 3-2.

He's big, bald and comes from Essex. He got himself on national telly last year when he got stroppy with the Portsmouth fans for not giving the ball back in a tight game against Norwich. He added on loads of extra time as a result and Norwich scored an equaliser in the 34th minute of added time!
