Gas leaks at Sydney Airport delays Air NZ flights

13.09.2000 12:05

A gas leak at Sydney Airport is causing problems for Air New Zealand. Eight people are being treated for smoke inhalation following a major gas leak in the departure terminal.

The leak occurred in the immigration section.

Passengers have been asked not to proceed to immigration and to remain in the departure lounge.

Air New Zealand says four trans-Tasman flights are affected and spokesman Cameron Hill says flights are likely to be delayed.

He says it is not yet clear if any Air New Zealand passengers have required medical treatment

Gas leakage at an airport, eh? That's a new one. Where are Gary North, Mike Adams, and Ed Yourdon when we need them?
