BBS Corinthian League Match 28

10 March 1997, Anfield, we lost 4-3 again and Sky got a tad over-excited, didn't they? In reality, this game was nothing like the one the year before which had been so evenly matched you couldn't slide a fag paper between the sides, since Liverpool won the first half so easily that they simply nodded off in the second half when we scored 3 in 20 minutes and it tok a last minute strike from Fowler to restore the points to their rightful owners. A Gillespie strike was joined with a lovely chip from Tino and a rare Barton effort. Also one of Jimmy Crawford's rare United appearances after Sir Les broke down after replacing Beardo at half time.

Bliddy hell. a 2-2 home draw and a 4-0 away gubbing at the bottom of the table Choppers.

Screach coming up on the outside rail to take my play-off slot as well! AGGHHH!

Hmm - still don`t feel very secure in my bid for promotion - I have True sneaking up behind me, and Softie`s looking pretty secure at the top!(:o)

YYYEEEESSSS!!! Second division champs and Stottie Cup Winners!!!! First division here we come!!!

-- Anonymous, September 13, 2000

Phew,

I got away with another one!

When's the next match Softie?

-- Anonymous, September 13, 2000

I haven't checked these results for a long time....so long in fact that I was heading for relegation last time I checked!!

Now I see I'm just outside a play off place! I expect that by checking the scores now I'll suddenly plummet back down the league again ;))

-- Anonymous, September 13, 2000

I certainly hope so this week at least Gav

-- Anonymous, September 13, 2000

Gus I expect you to buy me a pint when you beat me ;))

-- Anonymous, September 13, 2000

How many matches are left? First season tremendous start low-mid table mediocatry from thereon and flirting with relegation zone. Must be happy with that!

-- Anonymous, September 13, 2000

And when you meet me!

What is a pint of Cab Sav worth these days?

When I last asked that I was told to stop pretending I was posh!

However in my own defence ........... I can't say anything really!

-- Anonymous, September 13, 2000

well, well, the relegation boys have managed safety! yahooo!!

-- Anonymous, September 13, 2000

How apt that TSM and Ruud Gullit are propping up the league (apologies to those BBSers)

-- Anonymous, September 13, 2000

It seems that Ceptic are almost certainly doomed, and rightly so. To lose at home to my boys is bad enough, to lose by six goals is just sloppy.

Thanks Softie - hope you enjoy the pint I promised (for something unrelated BTW). How many games are left?
