-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

I've gotta wait and see what's going on at work.....they've told me I've got to work this weekend but they've also said that for the last 5 weeks and It hasn't been true.....probably thursday or friday before I know for definite....

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

I now have three tickets leaving one spare. Bobby do you need it? If you do then I'll meet you at the station.

Sting, you didn't answer my question on the petrol thread

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

12 of us booked on the 1130, into the ironically named 'Victory' by 1245, maybe, just maybe the pub will live up to it's name this year.

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Bake.....I think Bobby is sorted with a ticket from Garcie, but I'm not sure about Scratchy........Mailing him now

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Gav - you have really got to get out of working this weekend - I`m looking forward to meeting you!(:o)

Bake not sure on the boozers .. i know the Victory is always chocka but is a laugh .. mebbes we should go for a couple of quiet ones before we head up there : - )) So what do people reckon im game on for the 10.30 , ken , Bobby , Min , Gav , bake , whaddya reckon ?

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Bake if you've still got the ticket I'll be up for taking it. I can meet at the station to pick up.

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

I'll have to see what my cousin's lad is doing.....he's got the tickets.

I think we were planning on driving down, and I had thoughts of staying with a mate in Bournemouth on Saturday night, but given that I have only got a quarter of a tank of petrol left, which doesn't go far in a 2 litre mis-tuned and badly driven car, and I've not yet been able to get any more petrol, I think that idea might be rapidly disappearing out of the door.

I should hopefully hear from him toinight or tomorrow, so will have a clearer idea of what I am doing.....will let you know

Cheers, Bake, but as said, I've been sorted out. Thanks all the same.

If they're still going I've got another friend (yes, a whole 1 other!) who may be interested. Confirm tomorrow or later on here this evening?

Stingy, see you outside the pub in Waterloo about 10.15 then?

The Victory is a dump of a pub, but they don't seem to mind Mags filling it and singing all night long. That locals one nearer the ground was nice, and they didn't object to us lot having a pint in amongst them either.

So, who else is on the role call for this weekend? If it's a nice day then we can have a few out the left side (as you look from the station) with the seats as a gathering point.

Think Clarky will turn up again?

Well that's two up for the Soton ticket. Scratchy and a mate of Bobby's. As Scratchy was first it looks like it's going to you mate. Unless you want to fight it out with Bobby's mate. Anyway sort it out amongst yourself and we'll arrange a pick up later.

Sting I knaa you hate my pub so we'll gan to the Victoria or whatever it's called. Had a lovely time dancing to a few tunes at full volume in there.

Dread Are Colin and Jock ganning

Bobby - how bigs yer friend.
Bake see you in the pub (I'll be the one with bruises with Bobby)

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Just heard from the Big Fella with the tickets and we are going to head down there by train.....aiming for the 11.00 getting into Southampton for about 12.15.

So where is the meet either at Waterloo or at the Southampton end of the line.

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

I reckon judging by themix of train times .. at the other end outside the boozer next to the station cos its got an outside bit .. how does that sound ??

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Fine by me....any idea what its called or is there only one there?

Looking forward to it.

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

It's called (with no irony at all) The Victory, and you can't miss it.

Scratchy, fancy an early ko and meeting with Sting for the 10.30 train? Say Hillingdon platform for 9.00?

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Scratchy, sorry to mess you about but I was definitely told I would get three tickets for Soton but only two have arrived.

Min has one going if that helps, but I will keep asking what happened to the third. That will teach me to offer tickets until they are actually in my hand.

Once again sincerest apologies

Bake, Divvent worry.
Min??????

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

aye ask min or dya want me to ask him for ya ?

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

Sting, I've sent him a mail not heard anything.....if you can get hold of him another way you've got my work email address from Bobby's 'Southampton Meet up' email from yesterday. I'm traveling anyway

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

Are yers on the 10.30 then lads ? See you at the Coopers 10.00/10.15 then ? I dont think Min has got it in his hand just yet mind : - )

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

Scratchy - the spare in my hands right now is yours.

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

Min - Cheers for that - shall see you bright and early on Saturday morning with copious amounts of beers.

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

Apologies for being a pedantic pillock but copious means large amounts so you don't need to add amounts. Little bugbear of mine, sorry

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

Don't apologise for it Tom...it's ok ;))

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

Pedantic Tom? That's not pedantic....being bored and stuck at work at 6.45, looking up copious in the Concise English Dictionary is pedantic*:
Copious: a 1 plentiful, abundant, ample. 2 producing plentiful supply. 3 profuse, rich in vocabulary. 4 Providing a lot of information.

So copious amounts of beer would be plentiful amounts of beer, or ample amounts of beer not amounts amounts of beer.

* Pedantic of course being entered into the CED as a person who makes a pretentious show of book-learning

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

Bloody hell sir, you're always showing me up....

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

Look son, you're already in doing detention, if you don't watch your step I'll send you up to the heads office.

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

What do you get in the Head Office?

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

...some head perchance?

;-7

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

Ah, now I understand why some of the lads at school never seemed that bothered about being sent for "a good b@ll@ck%ng" in the Head Office !
