Can someone please...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

tell me how I can post pictures on here? Thank you.

Answers

The picture needs to be already on the net. Then use img src="url" in angled brackets. Open one of the threads on here that has piccies on it (anything by ITK is a good bet!) and view the source code.

Hey Steph......I don't quite know how to take that!

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Thanks Steph, let's hope I get it right. Otherwise, I'll just post a url here to point to a web page.

Yes Bud, I've been back for about a week. That's what I'm trying to do - to post some pics I have taken. In short, the trip was almost perfect, and the geordies I met were the most friendly people. I had a great time except.....

I can never remember how to put picture up either, if it works view the page source, if it dosn't .... I also have a job inserting spaces on this bbs, any pointers for me on that one?

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Now why didn't that work on the Strawberry BBS?

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

This is a test.

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Cos on the Strawberry you don't ue HTML Tags, you only have to put the Piccie URL in the Optional Image URL box and then put 'any' character in the message box. I usually use a full stop.

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

I'll have a go now.

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

I don't believe it.

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Benny, That one didn't work......unless your picture WAS a small red cross in a white square.......but when I went into View Source and copied the URL you had put in, it took me to the Yahoo search engine page and said that the actual page I was searching for no longer existed......

Try again mate

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

test again.

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

This is more difficult than it seems....at least to me....now I'm begining to understand how the mackems felt since the start of the season....when you just can't seem to get it right.

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Is he there?

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Benny.

It looks to me as though you are posting links to another page, not a picture URL according to the View Source.

I again copied the URL you posted and it took me to a page, which yes contained pics, but this board won't display full pages like that.

As I said in my E Mail, instead of copying the URL in the browser, do a right click on any of the pictures on that page, copy the URL in properties and them post that. The URL you posted as

http://www.englishpremiershipfootball.com/images/birthday

took you to a specific page, but as an example, there is a photo on the right hand side, and when you right click on that you get the URL as http://www.englishpremiershipfootball.com/images/birthdaykirsty.jpg

Now encompass that insided the HTML tags I told you, and it should display as:

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Okay. This should work.

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Thanks again everyone especially ITK for your patience. I just found out that if I go over a picture, right click - under properties, it'll give me the url to that picture...and just cut and paste. Thanks again.

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Well done!! I forgot to put that you should include the image name in the url!

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000
