Quote from Bobby about RL, CC, DD, CB and ND but then what does the second bit mean, lots of chances for kids ?

"With those five and a little bit more that we hope to manufacture in due course, we will strengthen the squad. We'll be stronger all round and we will have more quality and I would say that we'll have a pretty good season without saying that we'll threaten anything.

Sounds like it. Considering he's already given senior debuts to Kerr, Coppinger and Ameobi.

It's a lot cheaper to go with the talent you already have at your disposal than getting shafted by players' agents pushing up costs. YBR's always been a manager who likes to blood young players to see what they can do.

The Ameobi debut was totally out of the blue as far as I could see. Coppinger had the time on the bench and the run outs, but Amoebi hadn't even been given a squad number until last week. I wonder why Bobby suddenly thought he was good enough to send on for 20 minutes against two world Class centre backs, and make an impact.

He must rate him. New contracts for Kerr, Coppinger and Hughes and the debut for Ameobi is a real plus for the club.
