Ok I dont know if this is what you want but I will try cause I to am doing an essay on that poem! Poe as you know had many loved ones in his life and they all died! Well he became very attached to his cousin Virginia Clemm,it was not uncommon back then to be insest, but the fact that she was 13 was odd! Her mother died of turberculosis and soon after she became ill with it and dies! While she is sick Poe writes the poem but by fact it is not published till after his own death! He grieved over loosing so many of his loved ones he turned to drinkin and became ill him self! But by fact the poem was wrote about Virginia Clemm!
