Apparently Foluwashola Shola Ameobi has been promoted to the first team squad and has been allocated the squad number 23.....can you tell me what position he plays?

I think he's a forward or attacking midfield. You can't miss him (unless Carl Cort is around as well). He's a tall gangly bugger.

Yep - here's what NUFC.com have to say aboot him:

Rookie Is Ready

With the news that Bobby has drafted in 18 year old Nigerian-born Geordie-raised striker Shola Ameobi to the senior squad (despite not even having been allocated a squad number until a few hours ago), we're ready....

Ready that is, for an avalanche of incorrect spellings of the poor lads name. Within moments of the announcement, Football 365 had warmed up their enigma coding machine and come up with "Omebi"

Who knows what other delights will appear if the lad comes off the subs bench - bearing in mind that at least two national newspapers think we have players in our squad called Gallagher and McGlen.

For the record, the correct spelling of his name is Foluwashola Ameobi - how do we know ? Because we asked him.....

PS - He's taken number 23 in the squad, but no number has yet been revealed for Olivier Bernard - reason unclear.

In Championship Manager, he's a right back. I let him go after two seasons...

I've only Three pictures on him so far and no fact file as yet. He's a very tall lad though, around 6'2 and has scored a canny few goals in the youth team. SHOLA PICTURES

The Problem with Web sites are the pages are out of date just as soon as you update them. Take my pre season page of SHOLA AMOEBI Since then, he apparently has changed his name, grown an inch, got a squad number, was really born in Nigeria. And now he's a bliddy squad member. I'll have to change the dam thing tommorrow when I get the real facts on Foluwashola .la la la Foluwashola .

Oops, sorry ITK, only just logged on for the first time in a while. Definitely a forward, but first played as a holding midfielder when he stepped up to the reserves during an injury crisis...strangely enough he wasn't much cop at that. Great to see that he's been filling out and learned to head the ball, as he was a pipe-cleaner man when he first appeared.
