Anyone read this week`s Dog World about the KC`s idea for an 8th Group at Cruft in 2002? Take a look - your eyes should just about pop out of your heads!!!!

I shall post the details for our overseas friends on here, later tonight when I have some spare time.(:o)

Hmm! My first posting on this was on the 8th September - just goes to show how much spare time I have at the minute!

Just briefly, the general idea seems to be to form an 8th Group at Crufts, which would comprise Best in Show winners from Overseas Shows, and four Championship Shows in the UK.

First obvious critisism would be - why do these dogs not have to compete in open competition at Crufts? Lovely as it is to go Best in Show, the same dog on another day and under a different judge, might be thrown out of their class!

I think the KC are loosing their minds - anyone else think the same? (:o)

I feel very strongly about this one - I think it is imperative that dogs win their way through to the Best in Show ring in open competition on the day.

Anyone agree?(:o)

Well, according to todays papers, the Kennel Club are still hell bent on this 8th Group idea. Don`t get me wrong, I would love to see more competitors here from overseas, but EVERYONE must compete in open competition surely. I know for sure it is not an idea that will be well received by the majority.

Still no takers on this subject?(:o)
