Does anyone check the bbs' of other teams before we play them just to get a feel of how their fans are feeling before they play us? I've sought to find what I can and the general feeling is one of "quietly confident" that is what one chewsee lad told me. Of course what would one expect from one such as he.

Just had a quick look at their official messageboard - they've got it divided into footy/non-footy just in case any of their readers can't tell the difference. Any way they seem more bothered about winding up the villa than worrying about us at the mo.

I imagine they feel fairly confident given they beat us 3 times last year (albeit both the league games were by a single goal, and undeserved, not to mention their Wembley spawniness).

What I'd love to see (just love it) is to get a good result to stick it up that twat on ITV teletext (the self proclaimed "Guv'nor"...I don't think it's 'Paul' Ince). What a prize c**t he is.

As long as we don't let Poyet score we should do okay!

Poyet's not definate to start I don't think. He's having a late fitness test

Spot on DeBuilder....that twat scores at will against us and we never seem to get used to the idea!! mind you he's apparently one of the chelsea bottlers so he might even get dropped for tomorrow but I doubt it :((

He always manages to piss me off...

From the Official Chewsea site

"Newcastle Build Up Friday, September 08, 2000

Chelsea's tough opening start to the season continues tomorrow with a trip to revitalized, and top of the table, Newcastle. By October the 1st after just 6 weeks of the season Chelsea will have played 5 of the top 7 from last season as well as Newcastle away, always a tough game. It shows how at this early stage how you should treat results and the table with caution as it really only starts to look significant after Christmas.

That said a morale boosting result would not go amiss tomorrow, while a point would be a good result at St James Park, 3 would help banish the memories of Wednesday's disappointment and the media onslaught there's been in the press today. It's interesting to note how little mention there has been of Man Utd letting a similar lead slip in just 5 minutes at West Ham or Liverpool letting in 3 in the last 15 minutes against Southampton in comparison. Yet maybe it will have a positive effect, teams can often play their best when they feel they are being criticized and can develop a closer bond, it will be interesting to watch the performance tomorrow.

In team news, De Goey (hamstring) and Stanic (knee) are again set to miss out and Poyet's injury in the Arsenal game will rule him out. With Babayaro now having left for the Olympics there will be a couple of enforced changes from Wednesday's team.

Newcastle have Warren Barton suspended and Stephen Glass and Didier Domi are doubtful after limping off in the midweek win over Coventry. Carl Cort could return though after a hamstring problem. Alan Shearer meanwhile has now passed the 200 league goal barrier with his penalty at Coventry.

The squad had a warm down session yesterday and will train today before flying up to Newcastle. Also yesterday a special training game against Crystal Palace was organised where Albert Ferrer got his first run out of the season following his injury as did new signing Winston Bogarde.

Chelsea's record against Newcastle is mixed yet last season was the first time since 1971 that they have done the league double over them, which in fact was a treble when you include the FA Cup semi final. That could mean Newcastle seeking revenge but Chelsea have their own reasons for desperately wanting something out of the game."

I hope we get after them tomorrow, we owe them for last season.

Good to see De Goey is out, he's pulled off some blinding saves against us over the last few games.

-- Anonymous, September 08, 2000

They'll have to alter their game plan somewhat following the abscence of Poyet and Stanic. In the Charity Shield they played long diagonal balls to these two out wide and runners went through the middle.

No problems if Poyet and De Goey are out!

And Stanic and Poyet and Babayaro , theyre all great players , weve got a better chance without them on .

Obviously Hasslewank is the main danger now. I think our midfield will keep theirs more than busy.

Our problem is that no one comes and thinks of us as being a Bradford City. They will play football in San Siro Jsmes tomorrow. However, I;d urge all Geordies to abuse Leboeuf til he freaks after what he said about the Toon.

Err....Barton's not "still suspended" is he? I thoughtit was just a 1 game thing.

-- Anonymous, September 08, 2000

hit send too soon. oops. Also glad DeGoey is out! Should be fun watching Big Al scare La Poof again. "Hey Frank....BOO!" "aaaiiiiieeeee" *poofy runs away quivering* >:-)

Barton will be playing - it's only a one game suspension.

This Chelsea-Villa thing is amusing. It's all based on Chewsee's alleged tickling of Gareth Southgate.
In this morning's Journal, John Gregory says "I have always maintained that Chelsea have totally messed up my skipper from day one, because he's been under the impression that Chelsea were coming in to sign him. If they'd have wanted him that badly, I'd say it would have happened by now. If I had desperately wanted a player I'd have chased him until I got him. We haven't seen that with Chelsea and haven't even heard from them for a long time."
"They obviously tapped him up and certainly unsettled him. If it's not hit home by now that they don't want him as much as they initially said, then he's thicker than I thought".
Gregory also claimed that the blues and their Chairman, Ken Bates, have "delusions of grandeur" in thinking they were deserving of the same status as the likes of Manure and Liverpool. He goes on "I don't like Chelsea. I have never liked Chelsea. It's a Club I have never warmed to. Manure have every reason to think they are the best Club in the world. It's the same with Liverpool after their European Cup wins. But Chelsea are false pretenders - they have inflated opinions of themselves."

Obviously don't fancy Vialli's job then Gregors?

Was Idiot Gregory really quoted as calling them Manure ?!! If so I'll take my hat off to the man
