Dubai Crude Up Past US$30 Per Barrel for First Time Ever

Oil prices shot through the roof Tuesday, with Dubai crude trading over the US$30 per barrel ceiling for the first time ever. Dubai crude comprises the bulk of Korea!/s oil imports. According to the National Petroleum Corp. (NPC), the price of Dubai crude for October delivery hit US$30.23 per barrel on international markets and US$30.18 for November delivery. North Sea Brent crude surged to US$35.35 per barrel, its highest level in the almost 10 years since the outbreak of the Gulf War in 1991.
