Training facilities etc.

Gerard "Rabbit in headlights" Houllier speaking about Liverpool's plans to build a purpose built sports pavilion at their training ground.

"We've got to try to improve things to have the best in terms of treatment of injured players, their recuperation and rehabilitation," said boss Gerard Houllier. "I've visited other clubs and learned from them as well as basing these plans on what I know

I know it is easy to say but why don't we do the same. Is the Riverside ours to build on? What are our facilities like?

DB,

The Riverside belongs to Durham Cricket Club. Not sure what our arrangement is with them but they get stroppy when the cricket is on and won't let any Toon fans use the (mostly empty) car park! The facilities seem to be good there but a club our size should have its own place.

Check out here for a great pic of the training ground including the castle taken by Jacko.

Dietmar Hamman had things to say about our training ground. However, even Bobby has said that we need to improve training facilities if we want to appear to be a big club. Reminds me of Kevin Keegan who had to fumigate the old training ground...

Steph, nice pictures from the training ground, have you seen this Bernard lad yet?

Isn't that page more of a 'spot the motor' comp? ;-)

I reckon: YBR is in a BMW, Lee has a Porsche (Boxster?), Barton in a Range Rover, Speed has a Porsche too (911?), Dyer in a BMW (Z3?), Harper in some Japanese thingy (Subaru Impreza T2000?) and Shay seems to be in his dad's tractor.

Anyone do better?

LOL Bobby!

I don't know much about cars but I think Lee's is a Merc, Speed a BMW or Merc (not a Porsche), Dyer's is a Porsche. Can't remember which car Shay was in - he has about 4! I think it was a Range Rover type thing.
