I would like to know what a VCD player is, where is it available in India, (if possible) and the price range.

VCD players are the one like the audio CD players but they play video that is recorded on them. They use Video CD's and a movie in hindi would occupy 2 or 3 CD's. This is a popular format in India and Europe.

VCD players are available in India. Sony has the VCD Discman a small portable player and the other brands are also coming with them. AIWA has a complete set of Video CD Players and the surround sound systems. The smaller ones should be around Rs.10,000 or below.
