Big Dunc out again

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Dunc's gone under the surgeon's knife again, he just can't shake them off can he. Looks good money even before the appearance related money (which we'll never see).

In the wake of our top of the league progress I am coming ound to the theory that selling the big man may have had some benefit after all.

DUNCAN FERGUSON's Everton revival has hit the rocks, with the powerful Scottish forward likely to be sidelined for around a month after undergoing surgery on his troublesome calf. Ferguson returned to The Toffees in a #4.5 million deal from Newcastle at the start of the season but he has been ruled out after suffering the injury against Charlton in August.

It rather vindicates Bobby Robson's apparent philosophy of being realistic about players with perpetually recurring injuries.

Perhaps Graham should do the same re Anderton, and Houllier with Redknapp. No question with all these players that when they're fit, they're amongst the best, but they never play enough to merit being in the squad. Could include Howey in that too, although he's obviously playing at the moment.
