Nikon SB-27 flash questions

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

I am interested in getting a second flash unit for my Nikon system. I am checking out a used SB-27 flash, but I cannot ask the storeowner any questions due to language problems, and there is no manual available. I would like to know if I can manually set the flash output of the SB-27 the same way as the SB-28, which I have.

1. How to do this?

2. Also, what is the max and min output range of the SB-27 (i.e. 1/1 to 1/64 in the SB-28)?

3. Any links out there with the SB-27's specifications?

You can set the manual output on the SB-27 while in the M mode with the same button sequence as SB-28. I haven't used the SB-27 since last December, but if I recall correctly, the range of manual output on the SB-27 is 4 stops (1/1 - 1/16). A rudimentary specification of the flash is available at www.photozone.de.
