OK has a "test loop" at Shawnee Mission Park. A test loop is a place where you can run a time trial as a test of your fitness. Check it out at:

While I appreciate the sanctity of the official course, it would be interesting to know how times are affected if the starting line were moved elsewhere on the course or if the course were run backwards.

It is great to finally have the course shown on-line. It may open up things because the route is now known without having to show up with someone who knows. Some people may wish to test themselves in private.

It might be noted that Snorkel has the world record at 13:56, set almost 1 1/2 years ago now. He also holds an impressive 16:14 nighttime PR. No women's record exists. A world record ripe for the picking!!! What are they waiting for anyway?

The best way to run the test loop is clockwise. I tend to be a minute or two slower when I run it counter clockwise.
