Just beat me to that thread Softie!

Bobby Robson Walks on Water. 100% record in your Bobby's life.

In comparison to last season (the corresponding fixtures) we are now 3 points ahead, scored one more and conceded 6 less.

A couple of weeks ago, in my "Jonno the Baptist" thread I spoke of one who would shortly come amongst us which would portend great things.

After the first match of His life we are top of the league. Spooky.

Anyone hungry? I know this trick with a few loaves and fishes....

Bergkamp nearly scored two minutes from the end, otherwise our top of the league would have lasted 15 minutes. Now let's go ahead and stretch it way beyond next Saturday. Great to see Chelsea in the bottom half of the table too - is David Mellor on tonight?

MOTD in 5 minutes - hope they show more than 3 seconds!

YES!!!!!!!!!!

That PL table sure makes pretty reading tonight.

Roll on Saturday - we can take 'em.

"We are top of the League,..... say, we are top of the League..............

We enjoyed singing that so much tonight it was hilarious :))

Match Commentary thread pretty much summed it up apart from Griffin looked nervous for a little while and then came into it very well indeed as did Hughes....Gary Speed was truly SUPERB in the middle of the park....won everything.....Charvet looked good but he pulled out of one 50-50 tackle which annoyed me a lot.....Shay made a couple of good saves...Al was a bit poor, Cordone looked good but was coming too deep and was caught offside too many times!!

Apart from that it's been a boring night....we only just made it back for our train (1 min to spare after running a couple of miles!)....Dan was commmenting on the way back that there'd been no fights and lo and behold I get off at Watford Junction and get into a fight with 3 Chelsea fans (don't worry It was handbags stuff!)....

Met Jay and her Mate but no-one else turned up in that pub....after being there for the 1st time I can see why....it was a FUCKING DUMP!! whatever you all do with the rest of your lives, remember to avoid the OLD RED HORSE like the plague!!

Softie, you do realize of course, you're going to have to have a son each season now. Ahem..ok, I'll start running before Nicola throws something very heavy at me. ;-))

TOP OF THE LEAGUE!!! Ahhhh.....that is beauty! And a fine welcome home to young Master Robert!

There I was, at work, only had the BBS, (thanks Galaxy et al for the updates). Then There they were...my team, the team I have loved since I can remember anything, Top of the League, scary moments after Arse equalized against Chewsea, I did wonder if my moment would last minutes, but they ended up a draw. And MY bonnie lads are top of the Premiere League again. I remember watching the likes of Suddick, even Mcgarry, then Wyn Davies, Pop Robson, Supermac et al...., loved them then, love them now, but there is something about this year, makes the hairs on the back of me neck stand up. Mebbies it's Bobby Robson, mebbie not. i,m just looking at the tables and enjoying, enjoying, enjoying. God bless you Bobby Robson, you have made my day!

Feels good doesn't it. I worry about how our results affect my mood so much. So does my wife ;-)

Off up North on Saturday for a week, taking the family to see the sights, staying in a farm cottage type set up near Longhorsley. Can't wait....

We ended up in the Rose and Crown with about 9 million other Geordies. Sorry I missed everyone I guess you were all suffering with Gav in the Red Horse. Never mind, Gav, it was worth it wasn't it?

Just as a matter of interest, where was everyone sitting? (or should that be standing?) We were about level with the 18 yard box in section A, so I haven't seen the second goal. Villa lost last night, and as I work with a lot of villa fans, I can see work being a breeze today.

We are top of the league...etc...

No-one turned up in the Red Horse apart from Jay and her mate Kaz...after seeing it for myself I can quite understand why....but where were you all anyway?

Finished work a bit late and only got into the ground ten minutes before KO. Saw one pub a fair distance from the ground with loads of Toon tops in but thought better of risking a swift pint!

-- Anonymous, September 07, 2000

I was there from 4.30

Block D Row N Seat 24........

I was the one coughing and spluttering over everyone......I suddenly started developing a pig of a cold on Tuesday and my head felt like a lump of lead by the time we made it to the ground, and with all those nasty people in Black and White yelling in my ear, it only managed to make it worse.

Sorry I didn't get to the Pub Gav/Grant/Jay etc......I left the office at 3.00pm and it took me until 4.15pm just to get level with where I live (10 miles or so) - a Nissan car transporter driver decided to deposit his load of ten cars off the back of the wagon sideways all over the Western Ave - must have cost them a fortune to write them all off.....serves them right for holding me up! - it then took me another hour and a bit to get to Warwick........

The three people I was going to the match with were waiting for me so that we could go a grab something to eat, so by the time we did that and then got through to Coventry, we litteraly had time to park the car, walk to the ground, buy a programme, get in....sit down and we were off and running.

After the game, the little 'un was knackered and I was feeling dog rough with this cold, so we just made out way straight back to Warwick and then I drove back down home.

Got in about 1.00am - had a quick squint at the board - couldn't focus properly because of my headache, went to bed to try and clear it but woke up this morning with a stonker of a head still on.......a friggin hangover feeling and not one single drop pased my bliddy lips.

Should see you at Southampton though.
