I have a Backpack CD-Rewriter (Model: 190130) and I would like to create a VCD so that I can be able to play it on my Panasonic DVD/VCD/CD player. The problem I have is my Panasonic DVD player did not recognize my VCD or CD that I created on my Backpack CD-Rewriter. I would appriciate your help if someone can email me the instruction how to make it works. Thanks in advance.

Your Panasonic cannot read CD-R. Change it for a Pioneer or a Philips.

Only rewriteables work on Panasonic DVD players as far as i know. Nero is a good and easy program to write VCD, check their free Demo out at www.ahead.de.

If you want to use a CD-R to record a VCD select one that has a 12x speed capability and the silver green one or gold one. Best would be to use CD-RW

I also have a Panasonic DVD player, model K520. The problem is Panasonics are not designed to read recordable CDs. You can however trick most models into believing it is seeing a store bought VCD by using the right CDRW media. I use Memorex CDRW Platinum and it works great. I don't know what other media works other than to say that Imation CDRW Platinum does not work well.

First use clad dvd utility and rip movie. Then use flask mpeg and select mmpeg and make sure you set the frame total to about 150,000 for a one hour movie and set framerate to 29fps not 25. If you use 25 it will cut the picture off. You can safely compress the audio below stereo to save space. Then I usually use Nti cd maker to burn the videocd. Walaa!!! Free movie
