-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

They're currently broadcasting highlights from the 5-1 victory a couple years back

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Hi Buff, Brad! Where are you getting the broadcast from Brad, the Coventry FC official site?(:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

No, the Newcastle site; click on the radio logo, and then when you get to the poage telling you how to install RealPlayer, click the radio logo again..it's not very clear

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Will lil Kerr get his debut ????????

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

I didn't catch it...

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Arsenal-Chelsea, please don't post any results from that match, I'll have it hard enough to avoid hearing them during the Newcastle broadcast

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

I simply don't understand why Andy Griffin isn't playing RB.
He must surely be injured again - Charvet's not in the same class.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Bobby might go for experience, I think Charvet is ok ! Griffin needs some reserve matches.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Here we goooo.....Top of the table awaits.....

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Okay - I`m up and running!!!!!! HOWAY THE LADS!!!!!!(:O)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Charvet??? Oh dear. Hope he's match fit enough. Griffin must be injured, didn't hear him announced on the subs bench.

btw...hi all! Sunny and cool afternoon in Boston. I'm trying to fight off an impending cold and leave at halftime to work tonight's Revs game. argh. Cmon lads!! Give me a good first half!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Good evening all :o) or morning/afternoon depending where ya at. Howay the lads

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Keep it on the deck lads, that must be one of the smallest teams ever put out by Newcastle in my time

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Ciara, would you guys please be kindly enough to be KC

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

err...beat KC

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Ciara, Limey!(:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

I meant to say hello!(:o)

Cordone sounds lively tonight!(:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

So far so good, but Hughes needs to wake up!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Toon Army sound in fine voice!(:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Evening Clarky - missed you there for a minute! I hope Huges can focus - sounds like he might need to.(:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Bit out of character for Glass - yellow card and all.(:o|

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Is everyone here listening or do we need to update that Domi's off and Griffin's on

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Well done Shay! We seem to be under a bit of pressure! It also sounds like Domi is still seeing stars - Obviously not one of the hard head brigade.(:o!

Domi off Griffin on.(:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

It seems Charvet's not the player we needed to worry about

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

I think everybody`s concentrating on listening - I however, can`t help posting - it`s like a nervous tick! (;o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Help...no webcast for Pete today, stuck at work all day..what,s happening???????

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

come on boys, get the pass and move play going.............Too many lose balls

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

The Buff requires updates people

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

eh? Griffin on? Wha'appen?? I went off to put on my "uniform"(aka tshirt and khakis) for tonight. And take cold medicine. bleh...I feel like h3ll...can't believe I'm gonna stand around outside freezing to death. ;-)

And yes, Brad...we HAVE to beat KC. HAVE to. No other option. We need 3 points to clinch a playoff spot and I don't hold much hope of getting it against NY/NJ on Saturday.

AND WHO MENTIONED LEAGUE POSITION?!! Nooooooo......bad...nooooo....that guaranteed us losing last season. No talk of table positions until after the games. :-)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

I wonder if Glass is being goaded? It`s so out of character.(:o|

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

WOTS HAPPENING....me and Buff...have no webcast..pleeeeeeeeze help us out.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

I'd like to see the Revs in the playoffs, although i'm more concerned with seeing KC lose to increase Chicago's chance of getting 1st seed :)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Charvet drew a penalty...

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Shear-er!

#200....one for Will!!!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

And Shearer scores!!!!!!!! 1-0 Toon!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Domi was kicked in the head (accidental) and after about five/ten minutes..........later!!!!!

PENALTY !!!!!!! COME ON SHEARER!!!!!!

YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Penalty Shearer 1-0. I am listening to Talk Sport - Real Player keeps saying "out of memory", I don't know why.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

If anyone's got anyway of grabbing an mpeg of Shearer's goal and celebration..PLEEEEEASE....let us know! I know Fox net won't show our midweek stuff...they rarely do.

I'm barely settled down enouh to start trying to get to grips with this game. What's going on? Sounds a bit ill-tempered?

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Did you update to real Player 8? You need the latest version to listen

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

As I was saying - Domi took a kick in the head, and went off about ten minutes later after heated discussions with Mr. Robson. Huges is on a yellow card for a second foul. We were pretty much under pressure to start with.......then Penalty.......SHEARERRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Coventry 0 - Newcastle 1 GET IN !!!!!!!(:O)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Sounds like we've been doing well up front and creating chances, although there's been some scary moments on defense, Hughes hasn't has his head in the game, Given needed to make a great save, although I think Charvet's been doing well

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Lua Lua Scores !!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Of course any football analysis from me comes with the *American who's only been following football for about 4 years disclaimer

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Pete, Buff - I`ll try to keep you up to speed!(:o)

We definately didn`t sound happy at the back, but the goal seems to have given us the required boost!(:o)

Seems to have perked wor Alan as well - just launched an attack. Two more from him would be superbe - especially from open play!(:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Galaxy * Glass booked , out of character, he has bad memories of Coventry, remember Boating

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Hurry try this link

http://www.sportinglife.com/football/live/tables/premiership.html

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Brad - you keep posting! Help me out, the BBS is working in slow motion for me tonight! Chippo booked, free kick right hand side of the penalty area, about 25 yds out. Chippo just kicked the ball away - ball being replaced. Free kick wasted....boo!

Nearly half time - pressure on us again. Huges copes with confidence.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Hearty round of Toon Toon rings out in the stands

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

3 minutes added on because of Domi's knock on the head

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

The Toon Army is in superb voice tonight!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Of course Buff - I had forgotten!

Dyer making a run after a foul on Shearer. Nope it was blocked. Cordone doing his nut `cos no-one spotted him free on the right. It seems pretty even now - one end of the pitch to another. We also seem to be defending better. (:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

One minute left of injury time. Cordone gets a free kick just outside the penalty box. Glass takes it - cleared the crossbar. (:o) Over three minute played now. Half time whistle just blown!(:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Thanks for the commentary Galaxy...1-0 Half time, not bad at all...hope we keep it going for the whole of the second half, and not just 41 minutes or so......

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Pleasure Pete! I`m off for half an orange! Is anyone else finding that the BBS is grinding to a halt? It`s infuriating, especially on the matchday thread.(:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

I was just kicked out for awhile

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

It's nice to have something to listen to at halftime this year

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

half an orange eh Galaxy, thats the way pet. keep it traditional, winter half time make it oxo, none of this Gatorade nonsense

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

..except when they give updates of a match you're planning on watching later :(

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Brad, not as much fun as listening to the commentator talking to his wife on the phone at half time last year!(:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Oh, but I like the commercials, makes me feel like I'm really in Newcastle :)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Thanks Vatos for the Sporting Life Live League table. Top of the league for us, and Daveed relegated. Funny how even after just 4 games the pattern is established - all the usual suspects at the bottom including safc, and at the top too. I've got to 22% of Real Player 8 download now. I tried the Coventry site and that didn't work either.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Evening all.

Sorry I missed most of the first half - stuck on the phone. I heard the penalty though!

The Toon Army are awesome tonight.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Glass off, Gallacher on

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

I see Michael Owen has got a first half hat trick - Eat your heart out ANDREW Cole. :o))

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Evening Pilgrim - great stuff eh? BTW get Mrs. P on the computer after the game - we need to discuss Big Brother!(:o)

Everbody help out with the commentary for Buff and Pete - my computer`s on a go slow tonight!(:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Will do Gal. Mel Out!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Chippo thought he was on to a winner there, but Goma and Given foiled him. Goma stopped another attack. Wee Gordon Strachan`s having a flid on the sidelines for some reason - nobody know why! Another header intercepted by Goma. Coventry have come out with serious intentions methinks!(:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Heard a snatch on 5 live, toon just about worth lead, Bellamy hit bar early on, lot on Shearer, 200 goals, baby son etc and #500 bet placed that he will play for England again, his performance tonight described as rumbustious

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Argghh..computer froze up, had to reboot

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Pilgrim - Nah - Darren out, Darren out!!!!!

And meanwhile on the pitch.....Newcastle attacking again - claimed by the goalie! Free kick to Coventry, Goma intercepts again. Oh we are really under pressure, Goma doing well, Griffin holding out, Shearer clearing with a header! Another attack from Coventry.......ooooh and another!!! We need to break fast and get another goal!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Another good save by Given

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Yes!!!!!!!!! Gallacher 2-0!!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

0-2 Gallagher !!!!!!1

David McMahon scores for Falkirk !!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Gallagher with a great attempt, and Coventry very close to an own goal then. Blimey this is end to end stuff tonight! Come on boys !!!!! Gallagher scores!!!!! He`s offside!!! Nobodys raised a flag and he`s got the goal!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAHHHHHHOOOOOOO!!!!

Coventry 0 - Newcastle 2 HOWAY THE LADS!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

2-0 Gallagher !! Talk Sport are really positive about us. 32% on Real Player 8.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Bizarre goal...Coventry defender played ball, deflected off Dyer's shin to Gallacher's feet who, according to the commentartors, looked like he was offsides, but there was no whistle and Gallacher took the shot and scored

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Cordone has a corner - tries a curling ball. Keeper`s. We`ve had three corners now - I can`t type quick enough to keep up - it`s such a fast game!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

I really wish they'd stop giving updates on other matches (updates on falkirk is OK, though :)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Great feeling aint it - happy happy happy Buff

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

We are apparently looking confident! The Toon ARmy are roaring!!! Still end to end though - Hagi on, don`t know who went off. Hagi putting a bit of pressure on, Carlton Palmer has a shot, on target, but Given saves it!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Must be something in computerland..my machine froze, had to reboot, never happened before on this machine...came back and its 2-0...mebbe I,ll reboot again.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Palmer took a shot, knocked over crossbar by Given...corner cleared

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

I'm having problems too

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

let see Gavilan or Kerr on the field !!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Bellamy off, Aloisi on, striker for striker

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Ok by me if it works Pete! Argh - the cat`s disconnected my speakers!!!........... I`m back!!!

Yep Buff, it feels really good right now - but we`ve been here before haven`t we? Long second half this one!

Cordone attacking, Dyer doing his dickers `cos he wanted it - Cordone trying to be a bit of a one man show. (Still trying to impress I guess). Dyer having his chance now, not successful. Bellamy off - replaced by another striker. Still under attack from Coventry - Chippo goes down in the box - ref says no penalty. Phew! (Still don`t know why if the ref thought he dived, he didn`t book him).

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Is your cat a Coventry supporter?

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Cordone takes a corner, keeper takes it and heaves it down the field. 17 minutes to go.....argh!!!! Please keep a clean sheet tonight!!! Another attack from Newcastle, and another, Shearer seems to be getting more involved in the box now. Wow, back down the other end now, corner - Hagi taking it ends up in Given`s hands.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

13 minutes to play

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

LOL - no my cat`s not a Coventry supporter - he`s a Bengal - so unless Coventry have an Indian player, I have to assume it was an accident!

12 minutes to go......oh my God, are we really going to do it tonight! Still end to end, I just can`t keep up! I`m fending off the cat with one foot, typing with two hands, and I`m not lithe enough to manage to smoke as well - but I would if I could. Pretty sustained pressure from Coventry, and we are coping so far. Back up the field and Dyer should have passed to Shearer, but didn`t - I think they are getting carried away with the atmosphere a bit. 9 mins. left........Keep it tight boys, keep it tight!!!!(:o)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

9 minutes to go, still going back and forth

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Mailbiting time....wots appening?????

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

"They'll be worthy leaders of the premiership. Bobby Robson's certainly got something" says Talk Sport. How long to go now, less than 5?

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Coventry fans hading for the exits :)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

OOOPS...should have been "nailbiting time" .... haven't chewed on a letter in years

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Coventry trying to pressure, but our defense is holding up well

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Griffin is apparently playing nononsence defending

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

This is so exciting!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Final 5 minutes...

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Goma fouls at edge of Newcastle area

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Chippo tries for net, but over top of crossbar

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Cordone missed an opportunity for a third. Goma commits a foul, Charvet fends off the free kick. Oh I can`t concentrate. Free kick for a foul on Shearer now....hoofed back the other way now. 5 minutes to go.....Don`t concede a goal now!! I couldn`t stand it. The Toon Army are really singing tonight. Dangerous free kick against us.....don`t let it in. Over the cross bar by Chippo! Phew!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Ex-Toon Stuart Elliott just scored for darlington from his own half - better than Beckham say Talk Sport. How long now? Derby 3-3 v Boro from 0-3.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Newcastle has pulled midfielders back...i hate it when they do this...

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

DEBUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Kerr on for.....? 3 mins to go. COME ON LADS!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Did they even say who he's on for?

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

30 seconds to go!!!!!

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Please make it a clean sheet for Shay, especially Goma/Hughes, it will do their confidence the power of good, confession, ltd times I have seen him I like Charvet

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

2 minutes added on...Toon army singing Newcastle we love you

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Listening to it on the radio, isn't the same as being there . Can someone who was there post / send me, some details on who was hot and who was not? So I can stick it on my site..... Please...

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

a bit late but.....YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just read the rest of this thread picking up from where I left off to go to Foxboro. Ahhhh...just made my night!!! Sorry, Brad, the Revs seem to have developed a mortal fear of post season play so lost tonight. grrr. So I froze my butt off while feeling sick as a dog for that....when I could've stayed home nice and warm and listened to our win. *sigh* But I do have to say my section was fantastic craic tonight! It was definitely the Abuse section with a few guys giving nonstop abuse to KC and the ref(who's did a good impression of a (b)anker(why do the Revs always get them????). To be fair though the ref did laugh at some of the more humorous abuse.

Anyhoo....HOWAY THE LADS!! YAY SHEARER AND GALLACHER!!! :-D
