Buy this month's 4-4-2: On tour with the Toon in the US!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Great feature in this month's 4-4-2. They go on tour to the States with the lads. Great insight into how they get on and so on. Shearer is notable for swearing a lot and telling the driver who said that Washington DC was established by a Geordie from the village of Washington that "that doesn't make him a Geordie, it makes him a Mackem". Apparently Axel hates being called Axel. It talks about the little lad from Columbine and how pleased the team and Bobby were to meet him. Also interesting is how they split into groups - Shearer and Lee and Barton, Dyer and Cort, then the foreigners (Domi actually sitting eating his meal with eraphones in....). Anyway, it's a good read. Ciara - have bought you it. Please can you re-mail me your address and I WILL send the stuff I have for you.

There's also a brief history of barnets, this month looking at Ruud Gullit's evolution from Dulux dog to the Tweenie. Moderately amusing. They also compare derby matches for hate levels. We and Sunderland rate 10.

Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!

Look for some really stupid reason we here in Oz get 442 a month later than you lot. So please don't tease me with what's in the latest issue as then I spend a month just itching, bursting at the seams, to get hold of the latest (month old one at that) issue.

;-(

Is that the one with Jaap Stam ugly man on the front? Couldn't see any mention of the Toon and couldn't look inside 'cos it was sealed!

Tre, I might be coming to Brisbane over Xmas, are you still a barman, if so, where can I go for some decent beer; I hate that XXXX $hite you've got in Q'land (the best Aussie beer's brewed in NSW)?

:-))

Mate, still a barman, should still be by Xmas. If a pub/club doesn't have wide range of beers, then it's a shite bar.

However, I wouldn't step inside a 'pub' as they can be truly depressing places up here (or it's just my reverse cultural cringe). Most decent places are night clubs or Irish bars/pubs. But most places in the city are fine, all prices are a bit steep these days however.

Give us a shout closer to the date. That time of year we're extremely busy, but I'll see what I can do as the boss owes me and he knows it. I haven't asked for a night off work, or thrown a sickie in four years.

Also the casino often shows live matches in their sports bar around 1am then.

If you stuck your head in other pubs than Clancys and left the Guiness alone you would have discovered some fine ales over here!!
