Beautifullest Woman in the Universe

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Gwen's Trailer Trash Forum : One Thread

Who is she? Again, let's try to stick with pop-culture icons so that everyone knows what's up. I mean, if your mom or your wife is super-duper gorgeous, that's cool... but we can't debate that point so it'll probably be ignored.

I don't really know. I'm gonna tentatively say Kristen Johnston, just to get the ball rolling. (So y'all can say, "I don't know... but I know it's not Kristen Johnston! No way! I can think of a hundred women more beautiful than her!") I reserve the right to change my mind later.

-- Anonymous, September 05, 2000

I think Sharon Stone is very pretty. I find myself always staring at the TV when she's on.

-- Anonymous, September 05, 2000

Kristen Johnson is pretty. I think Brigitte Bardot (back in the 50s) was stunning. Same with Sophia Loren. She's held up well, but get rid of those glasses that look like recycled bus windshields, honey. They're too big.

-- Anonymous, September 05, 2000

It's definitely not Kristen Johnston. I don't find her attractive at all.

The nomination of Brigitte Bardot got me thinking about beauties from the past. I think Gloria Swanson in her 20s had to have been one of the most beautiful women that's ever lived.

Okay, more currently, I've got three in mind. Number one with a bullet is Kate Winslet. After her, I really like Gillian Anderson. And I've always thought Elizabeth Hurley is beautiful, but I don't know that I'd rate her SO much higher than any of a hundred other beauties... but still...

I, also, reserve the right to change my mind. :-) But not about Kate.

Kate Winslet is a hottie!

-- Anonymous, September 05, 2000

I knew that some guy would say Kristen J wasn't pretty at all, and I knew that a guy would name Elizabeth Hurley and Gillian Anderson, and I even knew it'd be a guy named Paul... but you surprised me, Paul W.

Yeah, Kate Winslet is hot. But I like Kristen J better.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

I'm thrilled that I surprised you, Gwen, but I don't know why I did. I've had this thing for Kate Winslet for a while. And about Liz Hurley, there are times when I think she's very beautiful and times when I just gotta scratch my head and wonder what was I thinking? That's why I only pencil her in here. Gillian is a chameleon, a lot like Kate is. But always beautiful. But ain't nobody HOT as KATE-HOT! :-)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Personally, I think Kirsten Dunst is very beautiful. I know there are lots more, but I can never think of them when I need to. Ah well.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Kristen Scott Thomas is gorgeous, gorgeous-beautiful. The most perfect classical face ever.

Sharon Stone, though I don't think I'd like to, you know, meet her.

Kristen Johnson is fabulous and beautiful and talented and funny...but I don't know...she just seems to lack that certain somethin'.

Shirley Manson, of Garbage. She is gorgeous. Or for a more timeless beauty kind of thing, Michelle Pfieffer (sp?)

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Melissa Auf Der Maur. I could happily stare at her all day.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

Good call on Melissa Auf Der Maur, she's hella pretty. Still, Gillian Anderson gets my vote.

-- Anonymous, September 06, 2000

You are all grievously misled. The answer is clearly Sherilynn Fenn. A female friend and I started an "I'd Switch for Sherilynn" club about ten years ago. It's too bad she can't act her way out of a wet paper bag.

No, wait. I meant to say Christy Turlington.

I'll confess to an ongoing obsession with both Princess Diana and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.

I guess I have a thing for dead girls.

-- Anonymous, September 07, 2000

Catherine Deneuve. She's pretty then and now!

-- Anonymous, September 07, 2000

Katya Gordeeva is so luminously beautiful it almost hurts to look at her.

-- Anonymous, September 08, 2000

I forgot about my all time favourite dead chick: Rita Hayworth. She was luminous.

-- Anonymous, September 08, 2000

i think kathy lee gifford is soooooooooo pretty! i wish i was her

-- Anonymous, September 08, 2000

Three words. Pamela. Anderson. Lee. She is perfection.

-- Anonymous, September 08, 2000

I gotta agree with you, Sukes. She is gorgeous!!! I'd do her!

-- Anonymous, September 08, 2000

Kathy Lee Gifford and Pamela Anderson Lee? Good god.

-- Anonymous, September 08, 2000

i think pamela sue andersn lee is ok but klg is just so pretyy and she sings good to

-- Anonymous, September 08, 2000

I'm with you, Lilipili. I think that African model, Alek Wek is absolutely stunning. That girl from Law and Order....I think her name is Angie Harmon...is really lovely, too. And I love her gravely voice.

-- Anonymous, September 08, 2000

Well, it is good to see that when asked people's opinions we can do so without being put down. Except for the part about being put down. Don't raise your noses too high, girls. You may get a nose bleed.

-- Anonymous, September 09, 2000

I don't see anyone putting down anyone else here. Perhaps I missed something.

I also thought that this was supposed to be a light forum topic. You know, breezy, ha-ha, fun. Did not imagine that (not) agreeing with the majority (or vocal minority) would cause any strife.

I will note that just as you have a right to state your opinion, someone else can disagree (even vehemently) with it and it does not need to be taken as a personal insult. People disagree with me all the time and I don't get my nose out of joint or feel persecuted because of this. You can if you like, but it would be sad if you chose to do that. Your opinions are just as valid as everyone else's, after all.

Can I spit this bait out now?

-- Anonymous, September 11, 2000

Milla, I don't recall aiming my post at you. I'm not baiting anyone.

I just didn't like the way some other people chose to post their disagreement with me. If you don't like who I think is beautiful, you don't have to say "Good God." like I was offending you. There have been many times I wanted to say "Good God!" when there is non stop banter about Duran Duran in non-music forums, but I don't want to hurt people's feelings because it is none of my business whom anyone has crushes on, and to each their own. Don't ask for my opinion and then turn your nose up to me when I give it.

-- Anonymous, September 11, 2000

"Good god" alone as a comment, esp. as phrased above, is nowhere near enough information to assume a negative or positve intent. That was my point. I've said "good God" both appreciatively and not. I was trying to say that perhaps you read personal attack into a comment that may well have been supportive. My question was "why was there the immedite assumption that this was an attack"? My second question was "why does it matter if someone doesn't like something you like?" That is why I responded.

If you wish to feel injured, that is your right. If you wish to get testy when your assumption is questioned, albeit gently (or so I intended), then that is also your right and privilege. I just think it is a waste of your valuable time to seek out injury and offense when none may have been intended...especially over something so trivial. It is also a waste of my valuable time to try and soothe someone who is in no mood to accept soothing or an alternative scenario/POV, so I'm done.

-- Anonymous, September 11, 2000

Milla, it was a waste of your time to try to jump into something that was none of your business and then make yourself look all the better. Why don't you do something different for once, and have nothing to say about something that doesn't concern you?

-- Anonymous, September 11, 2000

Suki: Free clue. Public forum. Posting on public forum = non-private.

-- Anonymous, September 11, 2000

millie are u a shrink? i think youd make a good one

-- Anonymous, September 11, 2000

Milla, here is a free clue for you. Posts that go on and on for pages at a time and veer way off track from the topic usually get ignored. The only time I read your post in the last month was the one you posted to me today, because they are so freaking boring I lose interest by the time I get to the third paragraph and wonder when the hell you are going to make a point.

But it is a public forum, so go ahead and use up all the memory this page has to hold.

-- Anonymous, September 11, 2000

Good God!!! In a good way, of course...

-- Anonymous, September 11, 2000

IP traces are fun.

Now that you've backed yourself up, here's another free clue: I don't care if you don't like my posts or read them, your approval does not matter to me. In fact, I'd be delighted-- well, indifferent, to be more accurate--if you skipped over every post I write in the future, as I've certainly skipped over several of yours in the past. It simply doesn't MATTER in the grand scheme of things.

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Back to the topic. I'm not much for "number one" anything, I mean, why choose when so many gots to lose? Things is, there are traditional beauties, the models or model/actresses put out in the media, and then there are the not-so-traditional, that few of us get to see. Boo-hoo, I say. Among the traditional beauties, I have to toss out a few names...Clare Danes, Juliette Binoche, to name only two. Those eyes, those faces!

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Well, my answer is that I can't think of anyone. All the ones mentioned are pretty, I think. Beautifullest? I can't think of one. Although I think Julia Roberts cleans up well for someone with such funny features. Plus she seems like a normal size. I was watching Christina Aguilera on the MTV Awards and I thought she would tip over from the weight of her big, giant head. But my point was that I went to a Halloween party that Angie Harmon was also attending, last year. She was dressed as a Vegas showgirl, like with a nude body stocking and strategically placed sparkles. She had on a big head dress - she is about 90 feet tall and weights about 100 pounds - wow - it was *very* impressive, and somewhat depressing. She looked amazing, and all us girls at the party were like - "Dude, she has to LEAVE!"

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

That's so funny, Joanne!

-- Anonymous, September 12, 2000

Hoo, lordy! Okay... I'd have to say Gabrielle Reese. And then possibly Reese Witherspoon. She wort of looks like a raisin sometimes, but I want to pinch her little cheeks. Is that wrong?

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

Joanne, were there any other celebrities there?

Shannon, if that's wrong, I don't want you to be right.

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

No, actually. The party was at this big loft in NYC and it was thrown by one of the AD's on Law & Order. But she was the only actor there. Probably - as I said, it was a Halloween party, so I suppose it *could* have been Jerry Orbach standing next to me, for all I know. :)

Well my g/f, who is a heterosexual female(as far as I know), loves Pamela. She also has a hard time deciding which of the Stamos couple is hotter, John or Rebecca Romain. I can't argue so I have to give the award to both Pammy and Becca. I love rating other women with my g/f. She rules, except she always tells me, 'no sharing'. I guess that 3 or 4 some with Pammy and/or Becca is out. Oh well.

-- Anonymous, September 14, 2000

Isabelle Adjani, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Kristy Turlington. Whenever I see them in a movie or photo, I pay extra attention because they really are painfully stunning women.

-- Anonymous, December 03, 2000

There are lots of "pretty" girls/women... but I think athletes are the most attractive - a lot of those soccer players from the winning team were very attractive in many ways PLUS had the benefit of being in such great shape.

-- Anonymous, December 03, 2000

You want attractive female athletes, take a look at any college women's vollyball team. They are always in the best shape.

-- Anonymous, December 03, 2000

Susan Sarandon.

Bettie Page is a close second (best smile ever), but I've been in love with Susan from the first time I saw her when I was 13 years old. I believe she is the perfect woman.

To me, there is no beauty without flaws. It's the less than perfect parts of a person which make them interesting and beautiful.
