prints from a transparency

greenspun.com : LUSENET : People Photography : One Thread

I have a 6x7 transparency that I need several[50] 8x10 prints made from. My question is, is it best to make the prints directly from the transparency or use an interneg? Thanks for any help in this matter Hal

Internegatives will be much cheaper. But I'd suggest digital if you need really high quality ones. Ilfochromes cost a lot and the ones I had done at a (very expensive) pro lab here in Orlando (Seven) came out worse than the internegative ones did!

Hal,

You might consider using either the Fuji Frontier system, or the larger Chromira; both will work with either negatives or transparencies.

Prints from the Frontier at 8x10 have been discussed on the main forum, where some stated that they were pleased with the results. The Chromira uses the same technology, but requires a decent scan; it may yield better results, especially at larger print sizes. I found some information and prices at
