Sept. Conference Call Agenda

High-Efficiency Transformers Could Ease the Power Squeeze

For some utilities, especially in NY and CA, margins were particularly tight on generation capacity this summer. The spot market price of a kilowatt hour was hundreds of times higher than average, or normal. Sometimes this was passed on to the customers, but in CA the PUC put a limit on the pass-thru. In New England, Maine regulators and a CT utility are urging federal regulators to ease the burden for the region's consumers. In NY, Con Ed and others received some poor press. Energy Star Distribution Transformers could help ease this burden. On Sept. 7th, CEE is hosting a conference call to highlight the distribution transformer opportunities, bring you up to speed on activites across the country and nationally and offer recommendations on how to move forward.

AGENDA 1. Background - Distrubtion Transformer Opportunity - Recent Market Changes and Current Barriers (pricing and availability)

2. National Transformation Programs - CEE - Energy Star - NEMA

3. Update on State Activities in MA, MN, WI, NY and CA.

4. Recent Events - Follow-up on ACEEE meeting

5. On the Horizon - DOE standard-setting activities - Medium-voltage Products - Program Committee meeting in Portland, OR

The call is scheduled for 2 PM Eastern Time. The call in number is (617)933-2256 and the access code is 589-3953.
