So what's all this cr@p about Phillips

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

He misses the pre-season matches because of an ankle injury, then three matches into the season he pulls out of an International friendly because of a shoulder injury.

If this had been a World Cup qualifying match instead of a friendly, I bet he wouldn't have pulled out of it.

He played unhindered and without any apparent problem for 90 minutes against Ipswich last Saturday, and what's the betting he lines up for the Makems against West Ham next Tuesday.

If he does, I think he should be fined a weeks wages for it, and that goes for the others that have pulled out through 'injury' but who played last week and then play the next game.

Newton Heath and Ryan Giggs have got away with this for years, surely they can't let the Munchkin pull the same stunt.

It's all just a ruse put up by his agent who clearly sees this as the best way to get him transfered to ManUre. Sadly, more and more players have this attitude, which is fostered by their clubs (who pay their wages). But as someone who still wants to see his national side do well, I think it stinks.

Well it's certainly in line with the Newton Heath policy of lying through the teeth at each and every opportunity.

All will be revealed when he's invited doon to have a look at the new training facility at Carrington. I bet Peyter Heed isn't so diplomatica as that fella with his finger in the dyke.
