Efrain Palermo has designed two cover concepts thus far, available at:

I expect a great deal more interior illos. Ample examples of these can be found on our respective websites. As I've noted, Mark Kelly has given me permission to use his great Face enhancement, so I suggest we play this up as much as possible.

Would it be possible to have Mark send us a full resolution copy of his enhancement (with due credit given, of course:), this would increase the quality of the final production.

Yes, I would ask him for a nice glossy copy. This image needs the best exposure it can get, because--as Lan has demonstrated--it's substantially correct. It's what the Face _must_ look like.

New cover proposal:

Efrain has emailed me a couple more (the only difference being changes in the title). I especially like "Evidence for Artificial Structures on Mars."

I like that third proposal far more than the earlier ones, it's by far the best. Very nice.

But Efrain, if you don't have any specific reason for including that spiral nebula I'd ditch it as being irrelevant. And doesn't the context image that I think it was Haining presented of the "T" formation detract from its artificiality?

I like the galaxy. There's nothing necessarily mystical or out-of- keeping with including a heavenly body in a book about heavenly bodies. The spiral is a fascinating shape; like Cydonia, it invites closer investigation.
