Morning Sting.

Returned to work today after the break and didn't find the anticipated load of crap on my desk, result.

Relaxing day today, easing myself back into the swing of things, lovely weather outside. I may take a trip out to Castle Ashby house and inspect some Chimney and roofing works! Anything to get outdoors!

Bit quiet on here today. Hopefully the anticipation of a great result against Coventry will pep the team up, I'll be there and I'll be taking my singing boots.

I did ask the Cov board where the away pubs were but got little response and none of it sensible.

The Cov supports take after their manager I reckon miserable gits!! :o)

Whoa..there's an obscure reference, ITK. My claim to fame is having once received a kiss from one of them. :-)

No work yet for me. But did just get back from an interview and hoping I impressed them enough for a call back. I love the people, the atmoshpere, 90% of what thte job entails, and it's only 10min drive from my house. Even better, it's a fast track to skills that are in demand in the UK..and their parent company has offices in London. :-D

Keep em crossed. Got beaten out on that job by someone with more technical experience. grrr. The search continues...

Tough break Ciara. Small consolation at this point perhaps, but if it came down to a direct comparison of technical experience then there was nothing more you could have done i guess ?

Anything your fellow bbs-ers can do to help with the networking, jobsearching, preparing for interviews etc etc ??

Thanks, LT. Just one of the frustrations of jobhunting. As usual, if anyone knows of anything going in the UK with someone willing to sponsor a work visa...I'm all over it! Closer to Toon, the better. :-)

"Anything" sounds a wee bit general perhaps !! ;o)). What sort of techy type work are you after again ?

And I'm sure you must've looked into it - does the UK based company have to sponsor you for residency before it makes the job offer, or can you get over on some sort of a 'probation' arrangement ?

Some type of web production work. From what I've noticed in job listings on the web, many companies in the UK seem to classify it as Web Design, though in the US 'Design' means pure design - little to no techy-type production work(html and javascript type stuff). Title and duties are still highly variable since it's still a relatively new field...just adds to the challenge. ;-) And yes, a company has to offer me the job, then go out and get the work permit. Unfortunately there's not a demmed thing I can do on that end. :-/
