Bobby said this ages ago in an interview about Euro2000. This oik tries to make outr he said it today. Wise 'not up to it' - Robson Tony Paskin Bobby Robson has warned Kevin Keegan that Dennis Wise cannot handle the pressure of international football and is not worthy of an England place.

The attack on the Chelsea captain by the Newcastle and former England boss will send shock waves around the England camp ahead of Saturday's friendly against France.

Robson said: "Wise is a little hubbub of a player for Chelsea, but he played so poorly for England in Euro 2000.

"That is what you find as England coach, there are players who don't cope with the pressure."

Robson said Wise would be out of his depth against the world champions adding: "There are players who can handle things in their own sitting room, but can't handle going to meet the Queen at the Palace.

"You have to find out about those players because they will let you down. They will crumble on the day. They will shirk the responsibility. They will disappear."

Wise, 33, has made 19 appearances for England but his inability to perform consistently has increased speculation that he may be finished as an international, with his place under threat from Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.

I totally agree Dougal, I read that earlier and "deja-vu" kicked in. I do remember reading it during the early summer. Just goes to show why some (most) Journos have zero credibility.
