Can I just clarify which bit I need to send Rik - is it the section that starts with the heading "Resolution" and ends with me signature?

Sorry to be so thick - must have a smidgen of mackem blood lurking in me past somewhere.

Jacko,

I believe it's just the section you indicate, ending with your signature, that is required.

I made some enquiries about this some time ago and received some preliminary information. Some of the founders attended a Conference in London earlier in the year that launched an initiative called Supporters Direct. This is a Government and Football Trust backed idea to promote and improve the involvement of fans in their own Clubs.

A meeting was being organised during May at the Companions Club to lay the foundations for the setting up of a NUFC Shareholders Trust. I have no idea whether this was held, or how it went.

I received some sketchy information around that time when frankly it all appeared rather 'amorphous' and lacking direction. I haven't progressed things with 'them' as frankly I don't know who 'they' are, and this is extremely important to me.

There are several ways such a Trust can be set up and I'm not sure decisions have been made as to which is most appropriate. I have also been awaiting the issue of a proposed Constitution - also important in understanding 'what' the Trust's aims, priorities ad modus operandi are to be.

Now, all of a sudden there seems to be a panic to solicit the necessary 100 share-owning fans to support the Resolution that must be approved by all the shareholders at the next AGM.

Frankly, I just a little sceptical. However, the idea of a Trust is a good one and potentially a force for good in the relationship between the Club and its fans, and it would be a real shame if it went by default. So, I've signed the form and sent it in - we'll see what happens next.
