Making up words/phrases

Have you ever made up words or phrases (like "hold up there chachi")... not on purpose, but you just started saying it one day and never stopped?

That's weird. The other day I was just thinking about how you used to say "kick tit" in your entries all the time. I thought that was hilarious.

Actually, I have a habit of doing such things. I don't really *make* the phrases up, I just combine a few different things and come up with something new and unique. Well, not always unique. But once I start saying it, everyone else does too. Like my newest phrase is "Is that so?" after everything anyone says, important or not. And I used to say "How *CONVENIENT*!" (extra stress on the ven in convenient), no matter what. I also used to use the word lackadaisical in describing any person, place, or thing... no matter what point or description I was trying to get across. I'm weird though.

One day I just started describing things as extracurricularly. Like.. "that's extracurricularly lame." For just no reason at all. It doesn't really even make all that sense. I think that's pretty much it for madeup words for me.

I take existing words and existing prefixes and suffixes and make completely new words out of them, usually with no prior thought whatsoever. The process of getting undressed is now "declothification" and if you're cleaning something up, then you're "demessifying" it. And if I was going to get a drink of orange juice right now, then I'd be "dethirstifying" myself. I crack myself up.

Because I'm around kids a lot the words I make up are usually to replace curse words. One of my most used ones was a spin off of a phrase that already exsisted 'Holy Muh-moly'. I also use Inspector Gadget's 'Yowzers!' too. Oh, and if I'm thouroughly bored with what someone is talking about, after they finish I say "And there you have it". I do this all the time to my mom's boyfriend.

I started the expression, "I want to sit on his face". I said it once just...out of nowhere gazing at a guy and my friends loved it as a joke and say it all the time.

Recently I started the old school "word" to say hi, and now everyone at school uses it and it's a little annoying when everyone else says it.

Whenever something is bad I always say it "sucks hole". I'm not sure where it came from, whether its rude, or what it actually means, but I love it to bits, and there's no way you're taking it away from me, damnit!

I also tend to legnthen words. I don't analyse, I'm more into analysationalising.

I used to say the word "krod" all the time. It's really just "dork" backwards, but I think it sounds funny. So I'd be like, "Hush up you krod."

Also, I used to babysit a little boy who liked to play with my Beanie Baby ladybug. Only he couldn't say "ladybug," he'd say something that sounded like "lelebuh." So now from then on, I have always used the words "lelebuh" and the shortened version "buh" all the time, whether talking about ladybugs or not.

Buh!

Spiffericious and "It's all good, don't fret, yo" are famous quotes of mine.

Lately, due to katie and Greg, I've been saying Hold up there chachi, and my friends get a kick out of it. thanks, guys.

Last summer, when no one else was saying anything for a while, I would always say, "so...how'bout them dodgers?" then, "Duck the Fodgers!" and "Sick My Duck." I didn't make any of those up, but they were way over used. Now when there's an uncomfortable silence in my presence all my friends are begging me not to say it.

There are quite a few terms I've come to overuse over the past few years:

* "for values of" (e.g. "That's really fun...for nonexistent values of 'fun'") * generalizing "-core" from "hardcore" (e.g. "geekcore", "paincore", "snugglecore") * "Blah", "argh", and "Blargh" * "Wheeeeeeee!" and "Awwwwww yeah" (usually said in monotone) * "Not a winner in the [description] sweepstakes"

And there are others that only make sense in weird technical contexts that I've started to overuse...

I swear I am crazy. I constantly add endings or beginnings to words and talk very crazy-like. For example if some guy is really hot i'd say "oh look at the yummage-ness of him" or if people are fighting i'd say something like " oh the upset-ness in this room" There are so many more but i can't remember them. I'm warped.

I know it's old, but I had to get my comment in. I kind of make up words and my sis starts to use them. I feel like I should be given some credit or she should just make up her own.

I never really made up anything, i just put words together basically. Like one day i said, "whoa there tiger" as a joke and it totally stuck. I also say "ah hells yeah" when i'm being sarcastic. What else.... i like to use big words and eloquent, Jane Austen-esque phrases. Like instead of saying, "Roger, i want to talk to you" i tell him, "Roger, i need to have meaningful social discourse with you". I also like to say, "that sure is silly and kooky" and other things that sound totally geeky. Along with a bunch of other crap i can't think of right now.

Oh yeah, just thought of something else (that's not really my words, but oh well). My ex-girlfriend used to put "age" at the end of every word. If something wasn't good, it would be "suckage". Something out of the ordinary: "trippage". It was pretty odd but what do you expect, she was a teenybopper. *shakes head sadly*

yep....." Dont ask me anything i dont know.........." If you're good, you might as well admit it "........" You can't be perfect all the time "........and..." If you're early, you're on time...if you're on time, you're late. ( also, hiking boots have really good gription. )
