Latest rumour from Riks NTL page is that Robson is going to put in a 9 million pound bi for Macmanan over the weekend.

Just what we need. Another Right winger / attacking midfield player.

I hope this is not true, IMHO he's overrated (not by Real Madrid!) and too predictable.

Have to agree Tre - doesn't make any sense to me, and frankly I don't believe it.

In this morning's Journal BR is bemoaning the fact that he didn't have the financial muscle to bid for Sergei Rebrov in the close season given other priorities for his transfer 'kitty'.
He says he had the choice of blowing it all on Rebrov or bringing in other 'bricks & mortar', and decided on the latter.
So, given our defensive problems and growing injury list, why would he now be considering buying another extremely costly player in a position we already have more than adequately covered?

Unless LKD goes to Arse...........? Personally, McManamanamanaman is a luxury we can't afford to play.

You'll see when it hits the Sunday papers tommorrow. Remember where you heard it first.

Boro and Real Madrid have agreed a fee for MacManamanamanaman today (14:00).

Seems like that is correct, Boro and Real have aggreed and it is now seemingly down to the player .

naahhh....

Viv Anderson admitted that they'd agreed a fee FIVE weeks ago.

Looks to me like the floppy one is waiting for a BIG club with european football to come in for him. If you were him, would YOU go to boro soon after winning a CL winners medal?

And we don't want him either - Screach is spot on..

Boro may well have agreed the Nine Million fee, BUT, OUR Robson want's him and If I were Macca there would be no contest. He's A toon player believe me.

Rik,

last week the Ronnie said any link with Mac-etc. was wide of the mark 'cos Bobby doesn't rate him.

If you were him, would YOU go to boro soon after winning a CL winners medal?

But more important that that, would YOU want to raise your kids in an area where the sun can't/doesn't shine.

From the clear blue sky of Spain to the steel grey sky of Teeside.....sorry, methinks not!

Well Ken, he's got to play somewhere or sit on his arse at Real and jeopardise his refound England career. At the end of the day I reckon he'll go where he'll get the most brass - even if that were to be Smoggieland.
It's reported today that Leeds and Chewsee have pulled out of negotiations - presumably because he'll be expecting to maintain his sky-high Real Madrid wages, which very few, if any, EPL Clubs will be prepared to match as well as paying #6-7mm in transfer fees.
This situation could drag on for a while until Macca ameliorates his financial expectations or gets a healthy 'leaving bonus' from Real - more likely a bit of both, and RM did get him for nowt after all.

Point taken Clarkie, but if you were him and someone said, where oyu you prefer to be, on a bench in Spain or under a gas cloud in Teeside which would you choose.

I know which I would go for........what is the rate of Peseta's at the moment?

BTW Clarkie, where is it you play golf?

ITK,

If was thought I was a genuine star and had a fat, juicy contract at Real Madrid, even just a passing thought of playing for the Middlesborough Boozing Academy would cause me to seriously consider hanging up my boots.
After due reflection, I would sit on my arse in the sunshine for a few months and hope a realistic career opportunity came along - the very point you're making, I guess.

I play golf at Tynemouth GC Ken - invariably badly!
