The benefits of not being able to sleep

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

You happen to be lying in front of the telly when a study skills module for the Open University is broadcast and it's Stevie Harper explaining what it is like doing distance learning for a degree. The film crew had full access to the training ground to watch the lads train, had a long chat with Bobby about motivational techniques and joined the Toon Army in the stand at Blackburn for the Cup last season. Stevie was saying he had crisis of confidence about an essay he was working on in the hotel before the game, and so he e-mailed his tutor who encouraged him and put his mind at rest. Weird seeing Ketsy and Dunc still running about in our training kit. They didn't give the module number at the end so I can't reccommend which one to look out for. Another great bit of PR which snuck out through the back door completely unremarked upon.

What's this Softie.....you in training for the imminent arrival.

Sleep deprivation is part and parcel of the new job, you do realise that don't you.

The pattern usually follows, ankle biter keeps mum and dad up all night then decides it is time to go to sleep at about 11.0am.....M&D take the chance of catching 40 winks in the chair.,......postman knocks on the dor and M&D forever branded as "them lazy buggers over there, they sleep in the chair during the day"

Got my certificate for this..............

Ummm,

If you have a video, you can record these programs and watch them the next day with your books and course notes to hand. Many of the course programs are more entertaining than daytime telly - so you'll be doing yerself a favour. For instance, thanks to Andrew Sachs, I've learned all there is to know about Berlin.
