Sony Dsc70 v Sony S50

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

This is going to be my first digital camera and I was wondering aside from the fact that the S70 has a carl zeiss lens and a viewfinder - is there any thing else which justifies the higher cost. I am really torn b/w the 2. The s70 is kinda steep.

Any comments?

Thanx

Unless you absolutely NEED the 3.3 megapixel advantage, get the 50.

Will you use the camera for 8x10 printouts or for web pages? I bought the S70 because I wanted to make 8x10 prints. The S50 is fine for smaller prints and web use. Both have USB ports that make transferring images easy.

With either camera you will have to get a larger memory stick. The 64meg memory sticks cost $90-$100(USA).
