Emigrating to Newcastle.

Can some-one tell me how I would go about emigrating to England, particularly Newcastle and are there any jobs going. I really wouldn't care what type of job. Oh and how do I keep warm in summer? ;-)

Tre at your age you would qualify for a working holiday visa, which I think will give you 2 years stay and the right to work.

Do you have any British Grandparents or parents, this will give you a passport and the right to live in the UK permanently.

There are also exchange schemes with UK Education people to allow teachers to swap places. So get your qualifications first.

I have a mate here who did the opposite, came from UK for a year exchange Primary teaching, went back for 2 years then emigrated back here!

Help with individual jobs I cannot do, unless all those mega rich Geordies, Dougal, Gav Screacher etc need window cleaners/gardeners!

Gus, actually I'm over the age for a working holiday visa and I've just taken a twelve month leave of absence from Uni. Otherwords I have got the wander-lust again and want to go a bit further afield than just the east coast of Oz.

I do have British and Scotish ancestry, but as far as I know all my granparents were born in Oz.

Maybee I could adopt you? Would you work in a shop 10 hours a day, six days a week, for no money, in exchange for a season ticket, a roof over your head and a couple of meals a day?

Nah, last played soccer when I was twelve, as a left fullback who didn't have a left foot. But it was the safest position to put me in and I was under strict orders not to join attacks, just hang back and defend. But I was as fast as hell and loved choping the legs out from under any winger or srtiker who tried to take me on.

Rik - No! How about. 8 hours a day, 5 days week. 1/2 day Saturday. 150 pounds a week. Free room, food and electricity, I'll pay for my phone bills. & You through in the season ticket as my bomus. ;-)

Forget Tre, Rik, if you're going to pay him that much plus all the rest, I'll do the job!

If you don't mind going back to school, get yourself accepted as a full time student but don't pay your fees til you're in the country. This gets you into the country legally for the full year. Once in, reduce your hours to part time. This allows you to work part time while classes are in session. During breaks, you can work full time. Only downside...the time spent in the UK that way will not count towards legal residence if you want to stay permanently. But if you can get a job and work permit during that time.... ;-)

Tre if you're serious I've got a lad that owns his own sarnie shop, I am sure he would pay cash under the table, nudge, nudge. Although the one bad thing is that the shop is in Sunderland, but it's made up for by the fact that he is a toon season ticket holder and he wears his toon shirt to work everyday. Bless him. let me know if you want to be fixed up, buy uz a pint and we'll call it a draw
