So who is sitting where in the new and improved ground?

Have you kept the same seats or have you moved to a better view?

I've moved a bit further back from my previously poor view to help parents keep their kids interested by sitting in my old seat. I'm sure they are going to love all those concrete steps and not being able to see who's doing what at the far end of the ground; bound to keep them spellbound. After all, why would kids want to be pitchside with a close up of the action?

Newly named South stand .. why the hell they dont xcall it the Gallowgate beats me .. row J cross bar height in the middle , happy days : - )

Totally agree Sting, it's always been the Gallowgate and always will! Otherwise what about a name that means something to us - Beardsley Stand, Keegan Stand etc.

I'm in the Milburn Paddock, near the front but towards the far corner so not sure what sort of view I will have. Will find out in less than 8 hours - stomach churning already!!

I hope to be in the Sir John Hall/Milburn corner.

Going off the turnstile number, looks like mine's towards the Leazes end of the new Milburn Stand.

Reading this is making me gut wrenchingly homesick. Its now 5 years since Ive been to St James and the beginning of each season brings the pangs of homesickness.

However this season with the opening of the new revamped ground and all you good folk discussing whereabouts everyone is seated , well its bloody painful.

A few beers in the Monkey bar, a stroll to the ground, St James under floodlights the bright green of fresh turf aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh. You people are blessed tonight.

I wanna come home and sit on the quayside, I wanna walk up dog leap stairs and quaff a bottle of dog in The Bridge.

Bollocks

Hiro, I sympathize! I just want to cry reading all the build-up. Even harder knowing I've got a seat(P89, Leazes end), but at this point the first time I definitely know I'll be in it is Boxing Day(airline tickets arrived 2 days ago..yeeeeehaaaa!!). At the same time I'm also incredibly excited for everyone who is there! Can't wait to hear you all roar on the webcast!! HOWAY THE LADS!!

I'm in the central section on the Sir John hall stand, just a couple of yards away from Dr Bill in the sports bar. Shame I'm not up in the heavens as I'd previously though I was, A seats a seat though. I won't be seeing much of some of you on here this season as I'm Taking the bairns, each week. wonder how long that'll last before they get bored? Any tips on how to keep them interested during the long cold winter months ?

You know what? I haven't got a clue what number my seat is or in which row it is! I just know where it is. Near the front of the previous upper tier, Leazes End "Where Geordies never end......"

Leazes/milburn corner not sure where till I get there, I'm going with my big brother tonight, it's the first time he's graced the place with his presence since the Bay City Rollers were popular.

Leazes/Milburn Corner, Middle Tier...

yeeee-haaaaaa

Excellent seats, right next to the Platinum crowd about a dozen rows down from the boxes. I wasn't too impressed with the atmosphere, it took the 2nd goal to get us going ('us' as in those around me - I tried my best).

Much better seat than I expected. Had to go in the entrance at the Milburn/Leazes corner but my seat was about a dozen along from the dugout 3 rows from the front. Trying to get any singing going was bizarre as we could clearly hear both ends but they were out of sync so you didn't know which ones to join in with!

Canny seat , good view bit muted around me , not too mch singing but im sure thatll change : - ) Cant see the full extent of the building work above and the pa is crap . For 20 quid a match you cant get vexed mind .. and the toilets were realtively empty and the pies tasted good . Looking forward to the next one : - ))

Sting, Jonno calls that bit the Noise Abatement Society. We could see your heed and your occasional bursts of sympathy with the referee((-: We're at the back of the lower tier in the middle of the Gallowgate goal.

Row J of the Leazes (as it was) The 7th floor, which is 14 flights up and not an oxygen bottle in sight, gives an excellent view (as described by Softie). Very impressive and well worth the wait. After the first goal three lads in front collapsed on the ground in a loving embrace, which briefly gave the impression that the floor had given way. Later two of them were 'warned' by the Police for standing up and shouting various encoraging remarks. I couldn't find anywhere to have a flutter on the first scorer, which was a bit of a bummer, but I wouldn't have won anyway, so there.

Hahhaha , i was dead sympathetic with the ref who was turtely imporvious as always : - )

-- Anonymous, August 24, 2000

Tony, you sound as tho you are near me (J91). True and Mrs True are 4 rows in front of me. Canny view and a bit of singing and banter. There's one nutter (nah, not me!) who tries to start a lot of songs - his Sing in the new seats saw a great titter (fnar, fnar).

Screacher

J521, close to the collapsing drunks and happily amongst the noisier, if slightly tone deaf, element
