Does Gitzo G1377M (magnesium ballhead) with Q/R accept Arca style plates in addition to the Gitzo plates? If so, how well do they fit? Thanks, Jim

Based on my conversation with a Manfrotto/Gitzo sales rep., the answer to your first question is "yes". In addition, the Gitzo brochure in front of me states that, "...the new Center Ball head [G1377M] offers the choice between the Gitzo QR or the universal Dovetail system...The dovetail adapter is designed to accept most manufacturers wedge shaped plates including Gitzo, Arca, Kirk, and Foba. Rotate the extended knob counterclockwise to open the jaw of the adapter to fit the plate and then screw lock securely in place." This likely means that the adapter will also accept Really Right Stuff's plates as well. I don't own a G1377M, so I can't answer your second question.
