Who else would have the arrogance?

XX has been heavily criticised by PSV Eindhoven over his invitation to Ruud van Nistelrooy to train with his team. PSV have condemned XX's suggestion that van Nistelrooy could continue his rehabilitation from his ruptured cruciate ligament injury with his team for a month in October. Harry van Raay, chairman of PSV, said: ``I think XX should be ashamed of himself. This is very rude of his club. It's unbelievable. ``I can hardly imagine that someone can call himself Sir (clue!) and yet say these crazy words. ``I'm asking myself, how does XX think - it's a mad idea. XX has to realise that he first has to contact us.'' XX, who still hopes to sign the striker after his record #18.5million move collapsed in April because of the injury, felt the training stint would give him a boost. However the Dutch club are upset that XX did not ask them first before going public with the idea. PSV will block the move and they are angry at what they see as interference from XX. PSV spokesman Pedro Salazar-Hewitt told PA Sport: ``We are very upset about this because this is just not how we do things in Holland. ``Why did XX not call our president? Instead he just came out and said that he was inviting van Nistelrooy to his club's city. ``Just who does he think he is? He can't make decisions on the future of van Nistelrooy. ``We have a good relationship with that club and there are lines of communication open between the two clubs. ``They can call us any time and this is not the way to do things. ``If XX is so keen to look after our injured players we have four others he can invite over to his club. ``Van Nistelrooy is also our player, not that club's, and he's under contract to us for another three years. ``We paid for his operation, we're paying for his rehabilitation and we're paying his salary, so there's just no way that XX can invite van Nistelrooy over for a month. ``What's wrong with our training and rehabilitation methods? ``We think this is very disrespectful and shows no respect for our club or the player.'' PSV are also annoyed because the idea could unsettle van Nistelrooy at a crucial phase of his recovery. ``We're taking care of the him and this is the last thing he needs,'' said Salazar-Hewitt. ``Van Nistelrooy has said that he would like to go to that club, but at the moment he needs quiet and rest. ``He is on vacation at the moment and we haven't called him about this because we don't want any extra pressure being put on him. ``We're trying to keep him out of the public eye and let him get on with his rehabilitation.'' PSV are wary that the 24-year-old Dutch international might suffer a setback in his rehabilitation if he went to that club. ``What happens if he goes to that club and gets injured or his rehabilitation slows down?'' said Salazar-Hewitt. ``Are that club going to say they then don't want him? ``No, we won't let that happen.'' Van Nistelrooy is making good progress following surgery on his knee in Colorado, but PSV insist they will not rush him back. They are refusing to bring forward their spring deadline for his return. Salazar-Hewitt said: ``We're just hoping that he will be back by March or April. ``People must remember that we are not over 50% through his rehabilitation.''

Looks like I copied and pasted too much, as the man in person was never a great player, mind you I forgot to paste this piece:

"I can hardly believe that XX has made this offer to Ruud. If it is indeed the case, then he has crossed the line of decency. He must be thinking he is the King of Football."

Bud..the days of gentlemanly behaviour went out the window when football went hyper. Anyway..PSV have a nerve..they attempted to sell us a crock of shit......he was exposed.....simple:)

...looks like you're showing more than a slight, renewed interest in the "crock of shit"!?

;-)

What I meant Bud was at the time..he was carrying an injusry likely to keep him out fopr a whole season.....it's like buying a car....You don't buy a car with 3 days MOT left do ya...you say...."get that heap MOT'd and I'll give you the asking price"..same thing

it's like buying a car....You don't buy a car with 3 days MOT left do ya...you say...."get that heap MOT'd and I'll give you the asking price"..same thing.

The subtle difference in that Lanky is that you tell the OWNER to sort out the MOT, you don't tell the car to do it itself, nor do you say you will try it out and then decide if you give the OWNER the asking price.

Sorry, you may well believe that tranfer protocol has gone out of the window, but truth of the matter (among the real gentlemen of football) still remains, when you are interested in a player you approach the club, (Manager/Chairman/President) you don't ring the player directly at home and you don't expound your reignited interest in your very own column in a sh*t Murdoch Sunday rag!

BTW: just as interest, I don't reckon anyone should be banned from this board. After our spat in June I learned that when you start up on issues I am just going to pointedly ignore you until you say something of footballing interest, then I will join in.....abuse and I'm out of it.

;0)

ITK..yer fooling yerself if you think we still have "normality" in the field of transfers. Why it was only a few seasons ago that a player left both West Ham and Everton I think and the bleedin' MANAGER knew wnowt about it.

As fer The Crocked Dutchman...United never said that was the door closed...they just aren't going to buy a player carrying an injusry. This is old news anyway...The Wizard has been on the phone to R V N on a regular basis...just chatting to him and letting him know that he still figures in hi plans. Nowt wrong with that.

It all depends whether PSV have given the Imperial Lord Ferg permission to speak to the player. Effectively they are still in transfer negotiations/talks and therefore if the ILF is talking to a player without the permission of the club he is breaking the rules.

I would imagine it is all above board, imagine the ILF's reaction if Barca tried the same with Peckham.

Why it was only a few seasons ago that a player left both West Ham and Everton I think and the bleedin' MANAGER knew wnowt about it.

Sorry, did I not make my posting clear enough for you: when you are interested in a player you approach the club, (Manager/Chairman/President) you don't ring the player directly at home and you don't expound your reignited interest in your very own column in a sh*t Murdoch Sunday rag! I offered three options of the correct procedure, but you fail to read that section.

I bet you would love it if the manager of Inter, Barca, AC or Real rang the PoshPuff at home and invited him, at their expense, to go to anyone of those clubs to have a look at the place and discuss a possible trial/MOT/Transfer.......admit it....you would squeal like a f***ing stuck pig.

There is still protocol in the transfer maket as such, except where, as someone else has so succinclty put it, ILF is concerned.

ITK..you bore with with your Jonnoesque (sp) pendantic waffle. Are U seriously telling me it's OK to buy and sell players without the feckin' manager knowing?..Of course I read all your points..but as they were only intended as a jibe at United..again..I failed to recognise them on my next thread...soooooooooo sorry.

Here's ANOTHER fact..or truth..depending on how you wanna see it...if ANY of those clubs contacted ANY of the players U mentioned and prized them away from us.....Good. So be it. Ya see matey.....I DON'T take any notice of the media..I don't let it rattle me..but most important of all, if any player wants to leave for whatever reason...underhand or overhand :-)...then they can. I will NOT stand on the terra....sit in the seats and worship a player who doesn't want to play for Manchester United. It's simple. So you can take your squealing pig insult onto the set of Deliverance II :-)

Taggart is in the wrong on this. But it is just what we should expect. Taggart has one principal (and this was true when he was at Aberdeen) "What I do is right" irrespective of the fact that it may be contrary to accepted codes of behavior. Lancaster Hotpot's "defense" of Taggart is what we can expect. Do not meet the issue, nor answer the questions put, but attempt to argue a different point, e.g., I wouldn't want any player to play for Manure who didn't want to , ... when in fact he would be screaming like an 8 year-old if any one did approach PuffSpice. It wont do LR, it just won't do.
