Does anyone know why Nikon discontinued the Tech Forum on nikontechusa.com? It was a great source of direct discussion with the Nikon Techs for problems, feature suggestions and even praise for the Nikon products. We're they exposing too many negative comments?

According to the nikontechusa.com website, they have established a 1- 800 number for tech support. After an initial free support period, Nikon will charge $$ for providing support. Or a Nikon user could pay them a yearly fee for unlimited support. That might explain why the tech forum disappeared.
