Just a thought after yesterdays defensive blunders,(didnt expect anything different really) If we could buy southgate for 3-4 million should we go for him. Southgate and Dabizas at CB with Goma or Marcellino as cover (sell one once southgate's bought!!!) Would Southgate be able to gives us the organisation and stability we need?? Any thoughts, I think we should go for him!!!

We'd never get Southgate for less than #6M. Chelsea got laughed at when they offered 5. Either of those 2 Villa players would be a decent acquisition - Southgate is more reliable, Ehiogu more useful at attack headers from free kicks - but to be frank why would they come here? In terms of league position and the likeliness on paper for silverware in the near future, there's not much to choose between us and Villa.
