Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away.

Started off the first day of NUFC's season with a 7 mile run round the nearest reservoir. Absolutely knackered but a good feeling of satisfaction.

The day was going to be quite an occasion with the football and a small house warming party with all my mates. Football followed by Bar-b-que, which I was a bit wary of as last weekend I had severe food poisoning from dodgy chicken.

Cut the grass in a Screacher type ritual, cut back the russian vines for the fifth time this week, whilst me girlfriend prepared the food. First few guests arrived at around 3.30 pm, one of them, a Newton Heath supporter was greeted with me kissing the badge on my new away top. Good afternoon ahead then!!

Football was disappointing but I suppose on reflection it was to be expected. Goma looked completely out of sorts and his anticipation at corners was a joke. Marcellino didn't fare much better but did okay in the 2nd half. It really worries me why they can't get the basics right. More work or new players needed there, whatever it must come soon.

Got pretty trollied as the barbie roasted away, whilst watching the baloons float over the house from the Baloon Festival. Finished the night off with a glas of red wine and Fawlty Towers on the telly, absolutely classic.

Must wait for special edition of MOTD on Wednesday when highlights of the Derby match will be shown as well as the new stadium. Come on lads.
