Bital Information-System Glitch Causes Chaos

MEXICO CITY, Aug. 17 (Reforma/Infolatina)-- Mexico's Bital bank on Wednesday experienced communication problems in its central information-processing system, creating chaos and confusion amongst the bank's clients, even though they were served using a back-up system, Bital Retail Executive Director Rafael Recillas said. He said the bank detected a telephone or satellite communication problem early Wednesday morning but still was able to serve clients. Some Bital clients reported difficulties in making account withdrawals.
