Fans at Everton are the best in the World...

Yeah, right.

"I had a good time at Newcastle and didn't ask for a transfer. But when I realised that the chairman and the manager there didn't want me, and that Everton did, it became the main factor to come back to this club. It had to be Everton. "Everton is in my blood, it always will be. I still have my number nine Everton tattoo on my arm, and the fans at Everton are the best in the world, I've always said that. All the fans here know what I think about the club and I'm just delighted to be back."

So why did he want the golden handsahke if he was so keen to go back? Oh, sorry I forgot - he wasn't. He was gutted to leave the Toon. JUst like his agent is gutted not to get such a big wedge. IMHO, we will be better of in the long run without DF. YBR will use the money wisely and further strengthen the squad.

What a load of bollo@ks, he's looking after No. 1, YBR didn't want him any longer - fitness (or lack of) and cost being the obvious reasons. YBR's simply cut his (our!) losses.

agreed Bud. Let him have his X is the only club for me stuff. I reckon he enjoyed playin for the toon, mainly 'cos he and AS had a brilliant streak and scared the crap out of everyone, but his value to team and club were diminishing rapidly....thanks for the memories Dunc's but I ain't mourning his loss.

Hmmm - according to today's Ronnie, the Good Shepherd says:

"Neither Newcastle United Football Club nor myself have nothing to apologise to anyone about and our relations with Everton have remained cordial throughout it all and we remain on good terms."

So it wasn't just YBR who slagged them off then.

Triple negative anyone?

CAn't really blame Dunc for saying such a thing. Everton means almost as much to him as Newcastle does to Shearer. I wouldn't read too much into it. Unless he makes a point of slagging Newcastle fans, which I don't think he'll do.
