I agree with you Dougal but this is stretching my faith in YBR to the limit.

If indeed he has someone in mind I would think he is going to be a bit of an unknown to us. Either that or he's a player like Jason Euell who is not fit to lace Dunc's boots.

Anyone got any serious suggestions. Will he go back for Mpenza?

Mpenza was silly money - can't see him being the one.

This is almost stand on the steps of SJP and account for your actions stuff...

Dunc said the board AND Bobby didnt want him. You cud well be right.

Before Euro2000 he was being touted around at 4 million -ish, after his price rocketed post E2000 nobody has bought him and I would expect his price to come back down to around 5 million.

Sorting the defence out has to be a priority,please.....once and for all.

By my reckoning we have now taken in more money than we've spent since the end of last season. Other than reducing the wage bill and leaving is short up front, what does this accomplish? Arguably with the departure of Dunc, Robinson, and the Loon, we're worse off - at least numbers wise - than we were last year. Answers please.

We have young Coppinger just itching to make his mark, give him a chance to shine. I liked Dunc for so many reasons, however we need someone to play 30+ games. 4mil for dunc 3mil for howey, we should buy a defender that won't be injured and will play with his heart on his sleeve.

Yes but Cort and Cordone are better than the Loon who was the main partner to Al last season when Dunc wasn't there.

As somebody said elsewhere Dunc played 12 on the bounce and we won 8 and should have won 2 more - pity about the rest of the season when he didn't play regularly.

The guy is awesome but you also need continuity. Thats why YBR has canned him.

Repeat after me - I trust in YBR coz hes done nowt wrong so Far, I trust in YBR coz hes done nowt wrong so Far, I trust in YBR coz hes done nowt wrong so Far, I trust in YBR coz hes done nowt wrong so Far, I trust in YBR coz hes done nowt wrong so Far.

I really admired DF and its' a tragedy that his body just won't take it. However, facts are facts, and I really believe Bobby Robson has produced a masterstroke by raking in #7mm for DF and SH.

We need to buy a striker with real pace to give us another option, but expect Bobby to buy a CB in the near future - probably this Nikorev guy from PSV.

If it makes some of you feel take a peep visit ToffieWeb's discussion forum - http://members.boardhost.com/evertonboard

Opinion seems divided on their 'prodigal son' returning to the club, and they got far more out of him than we ever did.

I am gutted by the departure of Dunc. A fantastic player when he played. Sadly he didn't play often enough.

As for YBR how can he be doubted? He has been a success everywhere he has gone and he transformed the team last season when they seemed to have lost the will to live.

Stop worrying and enjoy the anticipation of a new season.
