Two important links could be missing from the Newton Heath line up on Sunday. Imagine an all Ginger midfield for NH, and Phil Neville at left back!Plans all made for Sunday and the dawn of a new season. Beers, sit down to take in the footie, celebrate with a bar-b-que as the Northampton Balloon Festival comes to a close and the balloons float over my house before sloping off down to the local for end of weekend chill down. This should be on one of Jay's threads really.

Henning Berg is pissed off at being 5th or 6th choice at Newton Heath and Celtic are lurking with a #2 million bid. Where better could we spend the Howey money? 30 years old, play him until the Caldwells come through and we get an experienced, established Premiership defender to stabilise our defence.???

I'd be surprised if we sold U Berg..very surprised!

Why? He scored for us last season...

I'd have him.....Anyone see lardy boy Howey in action last night? nasty tackle on Irwin although I'm certain it wasn't malicious? Ian Wright's son is looking a bit promising isn't he?

There's a one word answer to your question "why" Softy....and that is SILVESTRE!!!!!!!!!
-- Anonymous, August 17, 2000
He's not all bad is he? I thought he looked pretty good in a couple of Euro games: maybe he should stick to them.

No he's not all bad, and at times he can look very very good...however...he's feckin' cluless.....he tries to do clever things right in front of his own goal and when he get's exposed...boy do we get exposed....Macca and Raul for one showed this. He's just a liability....ya never know what the clown's gonna do next :-(

sounds like we should sign Silvestre and not Berg. Mind you we know what happens when you sign promising young left backs from Inter Milan
