I have speakers for my pc and there's a lead from the left one saying "audio input". Where does this go? Ta.

Into your sound card in your pc.

Where is this?

On the back of you computer you should see a section which will probably have three sockets saying something like "line in" "line out" and "mic". It will be one of these but I always have to try it in all three to remember which one it is!

It'll show as a tiny round hole at the back of your PC. There will be various slots cut in the back with the connections for your keyboard, monitor, mouse, printer, scanner, teasmade etc and should be a couple side by side for speakers and/or headphones. It might even have a little symbol to help. Good thing is that you won't blow anything up if you stick it in the wrong hole (as the actress said to the bishop).

Mind you, don't take nerdy advice from me: I've only just realised what that wheel on top of my mouse is for...doh! Why didn't I spot that 6 months ago?

How come your mouse has a wheel on it Softie? Is that for the little beggar to run round in?

Ha ha! Unfortunately it just seemed like a design feature to make it more aesthetically pleasing, I mean, come on! If you are going to come up with a fiendishly cunning, time-saving device like that then the least you can do is trumpet the fact.

Can anyone resolve this one?

When I installed my Intenal Hardware modem I took my speakers plug from the sound card and inserted it in the modem card speaker hole...result only sound I hear is during connection. WMP and RP installed but no sound on either! Something simple?

De builder, put the speakers back in the sound card output you should get sound!!! You will still hear the modem dialling up, this from the computers shitty internal speaker!!!! p.s log onto a radio station to see if everything is working okay
