Please enlighten me...

Could someone please fill me in on what the deal is with the "fat pouch" on my MC's tummy? A friend has an older brother of my MC who has been neutered and is nearly two years old. He has a pouch though not as noticeable as my MC's. Mine is only 6 months old, and he already has a big pouch that hangs down when he stands, but he is not fat at all. Is this normal? If not, what can I do about it?

Helen,

Commonly called "wild cat pouches" this extra skin is used to store fat during the times of plenty of food in wild cats. Obviously a throw back to wilder times, your MC has a good storage place that he will never need, as I'm sure he gets all the food he could wish for!
