Need help finding my ideal digital camera

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have been searching for a compact 3+megapixel digital camera that has a 3+optical zoom. Further, it would accomodate the IBM Microdrive and "long lasting rechargeable batteries". The Casio QV3000EX comes close, but it is somewhat bulky. The Casio website has a digital camera newsletter which features a new model QV3EX. It doesn't state that it will have optical zoom.I have not been able to find anyone at Casio who is even aware of this camera. Does anyone have any knowledge of this camera or suggestions about my finding my "ideal camera"?

Hi

In answer to your question:

I would have a look at the Sony DSC-S70. Why? 1. 3.3Mp Res 2. Long long battery life (nearly twice as long as some cameras!) 3. 3x Zoom lens (top quality lens!) 4. Small and compact (its not tiny, but it definely ain't bulky)

Okay it doesn't support the Microdrive, but Memory Stick is a lot cheaper than Compact Flash and SmartMedia.

Hope this has helped
