-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

well, i'm not sure what I'm listening to is the game after all. They're still blabbering, just did what sounded like a news update and I've not heard "newcastle" amongst the jabbering in the last few minutes. Maybe what I heard earlier was just a report from the ground?

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

Qui?

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

OOOOOO!!! They just did another update from the ground.

blabbberblabberblabber 1-nil blabberblabberblabber Shearer!! blabblerblabblerblabber Newcastle

And the sounds of "Toon Army! Toon Army!" in the background! :-D

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

The last bit I heard was "bloodyhelldon'tthesespaniardstaakfunny Newcastle uno". Sounds good to me!

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

argh! What does it take to get the lads to C-O-N-C-E-N-T-R-A-T-E after a goal???

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

I can understand un poquito espanol if they'd talk slower. Much slower ;-)

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

2-1 to them Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Last season springs to mind!!!!!! :o(

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

SH*T!! Thanks Jay, I was listening to the webcast but if they said anything about a goal I couldn't understand it!

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

You'll have to excuse him - he's from Barcelona!

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

I might understand a bit when he finally stops clearing his throat! (MInd I did think he said Espaniol Uno Newcastle Uno before - unfortunately I was right. Back to El presidente again. :o))

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

We'd better not do this next Sunday, that's all I can say! Cmon, lads get it together!

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

Sorry , guys I had company tonight so couldn't come on line. Any waty the score is 2 - 1 Shearer scoring with his head from a speed cross. Then after half time tamudo? slipped one past Given and Sergio just headed in from a corner. Aren't you getting this?

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

Where are you getting this from Rik, the webcast has just died on me!

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

I tried to get the transmission on Astra 1 f 12 point something gigabyte, but I couldn't find it so I went back to listening to it on my channel 34 while watching some crap gameshow in Spanish. It's on an alternative sound frequency.

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

PENALTY....

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

Ciara It's not on the Web. It's on a Spanish satellite channel. I don't know why Riks listening to it when they've got pictures (according to NUFC.com). Unfortunately most of us upgraded to Sky Digital so don't have the ability to get this. :(

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

I put in all the info on SKY digital to add this spanish channel but I got a message back saying that there isnt a signal

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

Shearer just missed a penalty, Cort was brought down by Constatin Gara? Gumara? actually saved it.

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

A pick would be very apt.

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

argh. Jay...any more updates from Dolly or has he thrown his phone away in frustration?

I'll just sit here listening to the Spanish web radio thingy and wait for CNN/SI World Sport to show Keane being sent off. That might cheer me up a little

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

Given up on the webcast, I don't think they're even covering the game! Jay, get on the mobile to Dolly - you're more reliable than Rik!

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

Hey Espanyol Mag, explain yourself.

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

Good night peeps.

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

Thanks Jay and Dolly. Sounds like the usual Toon trick of getting a goal then sitting back. :-(

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

I Got it, But the games finnished. We lost 2 - 1

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

Theres a program on Bravo about adults who enjoy time dressed up+treated like babies. Theres a woman who runs a 'parlour' in which she dresses her clients up as babies +shes dresses as a nurse...she then looks after them, changes nappies +breast feeds them(all shown on program). No sexual stuff at all apparently and a snip at #150 for 90 mins. Anyone on here ever been to one of these parlours +want to share their experiences with all of us?? ;-)

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

nufc.com have a brief match report up. LIke their alternative teamtalk cut and paste special ;-)

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

Are you sure you're on the right thread Spud? ;-)

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

12.440 is off the range of the standard Astra analog boxes - ho hum - at least I saw lots of v silly Jorman stuff while I was scanning thru all the frequencies on my box.

1-2 - are the Spanish at the same stage of preparation as us ?

-- Anonymous, August 13, 2000

I read somewhere that they are in the middle of some Supercup tourney and have been unbeaten (I think it's like a knock-out Charity Shield). I'm not reading too much into these results other than to say that our way form isn't looking any better. Most English sides have been getting stuffed in friendlise with European sides. The Makems got beaten 4-1 by Herenveeren (sp??) - I'm sure we beat them last pre- season. Roll on friendlies at SJP.

-- Anonymous, August 14, 2000

Geee....I really missed this kind of riots for long-long time...I hope things would be better on next Sunday!

Rik, still busy with yer pokemon's cards? I have something for you!

The long lost and gone lad

-- Anonymous, August 14, 2000

Same old same old eh? 1-0 up and then minutes later it's 1-1 :(( Someone somewhere HAS to be worried about this!

-- Anonymous, August 14, 2000

Gav, I agree. Last season, the crowd willing the players to just f.....g concentrate after we'd scored was almost palpable. Worst example (from many) was drwaing to West Ham when we were 2-0 with about 6 minutes to go.

-- Anonymous, August 14, 2000

The answer mes amigos is very simple - we can't defend. We couldn't defend last season, and this time around we still have precisely the same cast, minus Howey.
I don't know about anyone else, but Dabs & Goma backed up by Marcelino doesn't fill me with any confidence whatsoever.
In addition, Aaron Hughes appears to have been raked at LFB in both recent games against decent continental opposition. The lad just isn't a FB, and if he is our only choice if Domi isn't fit and/or Br doesn't fancy him as a FB, then we have a material problem there as well.
To be honest, if we can't get one decent CB in I'd rather see Hughes partnering Dabs at CB, with Griffin at LB.

This is so friggin depressing with OT looming on Saturday.

-- Anonymous, August 14, 2000

Clarky, I think you're right which brings me to the question - yet again - why weren't we among the bidders for Southgate or Ekioghu? I agree it doesn't bode well for OT. I suppose we'll just have to fall back on the KK maxim - attack is the best form of defence.

-- Anonymous, August 15, 2000

Surely Bobby must be just as concerned about our inability to defend convincingly. If there's any truth in the rumours that Domi could be sold then we are left with Hughes, Barton, Serrant at LB which scares the hell out of me. Hughes was dreadful against Feyenoord and from the sounds of things didn't get any better against Espanyol. Even if Robson does buy a CB or LB they'd have little time to settle in before the season is well underway, which is troubling as on pre-season form it needs major surgery.

-- Anonymous, August 15, 2000

Not helped by the fact that we rarely field the same back line two weeks running.
