good topics this week:)

I've met Davy Jones from The Monkees , Stephen Stills.

And a couple weeks ago in California, at a resturant, I saw Keri Russell (aka Felicity) and her boyfriend (who apparently is also on the show with her). They were all over eachother. But she is growing her hair out again, so its all good. The same day, I saw Monster Magnet (anyone remember him?) at a different resturant in Malibu.

I've probably seen some other people, but I honestly can't remember.

Funny, I saw one at the Modesto(, California,) library just yesterday. That kid from Roswell, I think it's called? I don't know his nor his character's name, but he's the guy who plays the guy with the weird powers (I've only seen the show once). He was sitting on a wall in the front of the building; he looked like he was waiting for a ride. I was on foot and I passed him on my way inside. I gave him the friendly smile I give to all strangers, and he returned it (yay nice people!). Just as the automatic entrance door was closing, I heard, "Hey!! You're on the WB!! Can you sign something of ours?" then turned around and saw it came from two teenagers who'd run up to him. Then I realized who he was and felt a little guilty for not acknowledging his stardom.

And that was my second-ever celebrity encounter. The first was with some blonde girl from Road rules. . . . she was on the same show as Piggy, except she was the one with *short* blonde hair. Yeah. That was my favorite bagel shop in San Francisco; my boyfriend-at-the-time noticed her first.

There is some guy from Road Rules who shops at the store I work at. Well, very rarely, but he shops there. I saw him once last year. He's from a few seasons back. He's named Jon. He had real curly frizzy hair and freckles.

Damn, I've never had a celebrity encounter. Unless you count the first time I was in DC.... it was the 50th anniversary of D-Day, and I was at Arlington National Cemetary the day they had this big thing about it. Gore was there, and I saw him give this speech and crap. He was like a mile away.

Yeah, I don't count that as one.

This won't mean anything to you Americans, but I've met David Jason, and Kevin Whately lives really close to me and I've met him several times (used to go to school with his daughter, actually). They're both British actors.

Can I diversify this topic slightly? Which celebrities would you most like to meet? Mine would be the Corrs, and racing driver Mika Hakkinen. And the Beatles, but in their heyday, not now.

Don't worry Katie, I haven't had any celebrity encounters either. Unless you count talking to Rick Nielson from Cheap Trick on the phone, but I wouldn't call that an encounter. I've only heard of people seeing celebrities, but not in my hometown. Mostly they see them in Chicago.

I saw one of the guys from ZZ Top [the guys with the long beards] at a restaurant when I was little and dad made me ask for an autograph...eh.

mom told me we met the woman who plays hope from days of our lives, but I don't remember.

haven't had any other encounters really. I don't count concerts or anything like that.

I met Mark Mcgrath from Sugar Ray two years ago at a concert. I've met Kurt Cobain, and a couple of months ago I saw Bill Gates in a car driving down 1st Ave in Seattle. That's about it.

So what kind of car was Bill Gates driving? :)

I work at Wal-mart and Hall of Famer Carlton Fisk came through my line, so I waited on him. That's about it. And I wouldn't have even known who he was if the guy behind him didn't say anything, kinda sad. Oh well. That's about it though.

If you know anything about the Miss America pageant association, then this will be important to you... if not, you'll think it's retarded. Either way, I don't care if you care or not.

:o)

I was staying in the hotel where the Miss Arkansas pageant (a preliminary of the Miss America) was being held, and on my way down in the elevator, Tara Dawn Holland (who was Miss America at the time) got on. I was thinking "That woman looks so familiar!", and then I looked at the cover of my program book (this all happened in about five-10 seconds), and there she was. So we had a little chit chat, and she signed my program book. She was extremely nice.

The other one was with Alicia Silverstone in 1998. She was in a Nike outlet in South Carolina, and I was on vacation. I didn't approach her, because she was evidently trying to go incognito... she had the whole sunglasses/hat bit going on.

And there's a new movie coming out with Minnie Driver in it, it's about pageants, and at the beginning, it's supposed to be in the early stages of Minnie's character's life, and she's competing in this little pageant... well one of the little girls that is competing against Minnie Driver as a little girl (whoa this is confusing), is a friend of the family.

And that's the extent of my celebrity encounters.

Exciting, huh?

:o)

I live in Wilmington, NC, where Dawson's Creek is filmed. Apparentely, one of my sister's friends is dating Joshua Jackson. I see the actual people quite often, mostly because they go to restaurants a lot, and so do I. And they film downtown, where I spend most of my 'quality' time. Blah.

I've never met and/or seen a celebrity. Yay me.

I met Luke Perry on MTV's FANatic. I proved to them I am his #1 fan. They flew my to NYC [which was silly since I go to school in Albany] and I got to interview him for 1 hour.

I saw Mia Farrow at a GAP once. I saw Linda Hamilton at Starbucks, Cher at a grocery store, Chris Farley at a drugstore, Brandon Call at a club, and Pierce Brosnan at a Blockbuster when I still went to college in Malibu.

I saw Christopher Reeves before his accident at the barn where I horseback ride.

I met Jamie Foxx at "The Beach" in Las Vegas. We we both pretty wasted at the time, but then the next night, I saw him again while dining at Emeril Lagasse's Restaurant at the MGM Grand. Nice guy, shorter than I thought he would be.
