Are all the B/w shirts the same?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

The New Black and White shirt came out yesterday and has the NTL (sports.com) Logo on the front. The Logo appears in purple and lime green. I was looking at a picture in the Ronnie Gill the other day and the logo was in Blue and Green. Was this a print error or are there different versions of the shirt?

If they had missed the red off he wouldn't have his usual suntanned look to him. This was taken at the Scarboro tournement recently

They haven't got all that writing on them surely? That's bloody ridiculous! It looks like a Formula 1 car.

Ok so the writing might be an add on but I asure you the blue colour is genuine. I also notice they have long sleaves, perhaps it's a different colour on the long sleaved version? Or maybee the reserves wear a blue logo? ................. Hang on see if this works...........

Ok so forget the long sleave theory.

Whatever, I was in the Monument Mall shop on Saturday and just couldn't bring myself to buy it - that logo is horrible. Anyone wanting to flog an old shirt with the star on the front, I'll pay you a fair whack. I have bought the away shirt, though, which is our best away shirts since the Brazil effect shirt.

Dougal try NUFC.com who had a link to where you could buy the old shirt rather cheaply.

Dougal,

There's a site called TOFFS or something that do old style shirts for every team under the sun....I'm mighty tempted to go for a blue star myself....

Toffs supposedly has/had a shop in Newcastle. I saw adverts for it in the Metro and flyers in the tourist office, but I couldn't find it at the address advertised. Has anyone seen the shop? Or perhaps it's closed down and no one thought to ditch the flyers.

Dougal - you can get an excellent range of gear from TOFFS, but as they specialise in older footy tops you may find that anything with a blue star on it is just too new fangled for them !

In London you can almost certainly still pick up some of their stuff at the excellent Sportspages on Charing X Road if you know it. There was also a fair-sized sports shop on Carnaby St which may still flog some of the TOFFS merchandise (I'm struggling for its name).

As for Newcastle next time you're up, TOFFS own shop used to be near the Monument. Head down Grey Street & take the first on the left after Waterstones. I can't remember the street name I'm afraid - obviously been away from home too long ;o)). It's possible however that they've let the shop go to concentrate on selling shirts via the internet. Check out web site at www.toffs.co.uk to order a catalogue or buy online, send a faxed order etc.

BTW I'd be interested to hear from anyone if there IS still a TOFFS shop in the toon for when I'm back later in the year ? Cheers

Thanks, everyone. It's just that NTL logo looks wrong whereas the blus star looked perfect. Will try Toffs.
