I am considering purchasing a EPSON Perfection 1200U PHOTO scanner. Circuit City is currently advertising them for $299.00. I am really interested in the scanner's ability and its quality to scan negatives and slides. Additionally, EPSON's web site states it has a "Transparency Adapter 4" X 5" scan area". Does this mean it can scan medium format film? Thanks for any response regarding this scanner.

Well actually 1200U handles medium format film better than 35mm. At the 1200ppi resolution the Epson supports, its hard to get quality 35mm scans, web and 4x6 prints are really all you can hope for in the 35mm arena. If you want something good, the 1200 Photo is a good value, if you want to work with 35mm primarily, you'll be disappointed.
